At our Vincennes, IN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I got my food way before my friend got hers. She had to ask about it. Tables not being cleaned. Counter girl mostly sitting on the floor on her phone. I had to bother her twice. Out of cup lids. The male worker was doing great work with drive through. Another customer helped me lower the blinds to cut sunshine.

We got 2 fish sandwiches and each one came wrapped in paper in a large Styrofoam (polystyrene) box. The food was fine, but I disagree with the packaging. It’s too much trash from just 1 meal.
I’ll go back if Styrofoam is no longer used. The paper was enough.

Go here! This place is a gem, a fantastic surprise. I had the fish, okra, hush puppies, shrimp, crab cake sand corn on the cob . . . Absolutely delicious and fresh. The fried food had amazing flavor and was perfectly crunchy. I can’t recommend enough. I didn’t even need sauce!

Stopped in a few months ago. We saw that there was a Captian D’S and since we like it we decided to stop for lunch. ( there’s not one in our area). We didn’t have to wait long to get our order. The food was cold. The only good thing was their sweet tea. Won’t be back to this one

This review is based on a drive through order placed at lunch.
Got to menu board and had a car pulling off from speaker. Was asked to hold at speaker for a minute before ordering. About 30 seconds later my order was taken. Pulled to window as the car in front was pulling away. Paid immediately. Food order came up within 1 minute. Total time 3 minutes from menu to pulling away with meal.
Staff – the gentleman waiting on me was friendly, and fast.
Food – the 3 piece fish was as good as any other Captain Ds, not greasy, light flaky breading, Food was hot. Hushpuppies were same as fish, non-greasy, not hot but warm. Green beans were warm and tasted great. Same with MacnCheese.
All in all I had a friendly, fast and efficient experience. Same as said before, food is as good a Captain Ds as any other.

The food was decent. My only complaint was how long I sat in the drive through waiting. There was a car in front of me that was waiting on their order too. Finally after almost 20 minutes, they had that vehicle pull forward so I could get my food. They should’ve done that 20 minutes ago!
