At our Lima, OH location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I don’t mean to sound like a Karin or anything but today my visit was just horrible. I got a 4 piece catfish meal with fries and corn. It took about 1/2 hour to get my food which isn’t too bad, I can understand staffing issues but 1/2 hour still feels a little too long. When I got my food I only got 3/4 fillets. I tried to mention something to the staff, however I feel like I was quickly forgotten about, just like my final cat fish fillet. My corn was alright I guess, but the fries were a little on the colder side and didn’t taste like they had any seasoning on them. I could’ve justified the long wait if the quality was there, but it just wasn’t today unfortunately. Overall probably a 3/10 visit, I’ll probably end up going to Findlay from now on.

I went to Captain D’s grab my drink went around to get my drink and the condiment straws napkin area. There were cockroaches. I pointed to it and looked at the girl behind the counter and she came around and said oh my goodness. She grabbed the napkin and started killing them. She said I am so sorry I’m very embarrassed. She stated she’s the manager I said how long have you been the manager she stated one and a half weeks I just patted her on the shoulder and said it looks like you have some work to do. And I walked out I didn’t ask for a refund or anything because I didn’t want to make it any harder on her. But if anybody is going into Lima I wouldn’t eat at the restaurants especially this Captain D’s or possibly that area.

We were treated excepdtiornally well. The kid who brought our order even got us kept coming over to ask us if everything was okay. He got us some lemon slices and tarter sauce. He even brought us extra hush puppies to take home. Very respectful.

Went Sunday evening with my family and friends and a guy rushed out the back door and said no more orders and slammed the back door.. we all looked like we were being prank or something.. this was 8: 30 pm June 18 2023. I will say that there food is amazing but I have a bad feeling when they chase off customers like this.. back in the nineties they had the best service and they really cared about you. Not sure what happened. Won’t be back anytime soon.

Went thru the drive thru tonight and that will be our last time of going here.Took 6 min for them to take my order.When I pulled around and paid for it was another 15 min before I got my food.There was a girl taking orders at the counter but when all the people were gone instead of helping out in the drive thru she just stood there and danced around! You need to train your people better because the cars were all backed up!By the time I got my food and went home it was cold and I don’t live very far.Will never go back!!!!

Horrible time. Waited for nearly 45 minutes for food and then it was gross. Burnt hushpuppies and runny Mac and cheese. No refill for sweet tea the entire time were there. It was not even busy at the time

We really like the fried fish that are served here. We split the sampler platter . I chose broccoli and Mac and cheese for the 2 sides. Added 2 small beverages, to complete our meal.
