At our Gallipolis, OH location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The place was very clean and like a fresh coat of paint. Bathrooms for clean. Food ordering and delivery was very good. The girl at the cash register was knowledgeable and was happy to help us. And that is something you need when you’re making a long trip from Ohio. Going to North Carolina.

Best new Shrimp Butter, garlic scampi tasting Shrimp they’ve ever had. Although, I will say the older lady’s attitude towards many customers while we were here definitely wasn’t good, she kept being short with people and you could tell she was having issues.

First things first. If you wear a hear net, put it on correctly. Got our food and hair in it. Tables were a mess and looked like noone has cleaned them in a while. Trash in the floor around all of the tables. The cashier was less than personable. When told about the hair in the food they acted like it wasn’t a big deal but offered to replace it after a bit of a stare down to get the point across that I wasn’t accepting it. This place need to get things together. Used to be a nice place to eat but anymore it’s went to trash.

I love Captain D’s . Was super excited to eat here as I was visiting from out of town. Service was great, employees were super friendly but the food wasn’t fresh, not even warm. Cold fries are not a thing. Broccoli & green beans were hot but fish, chicken & hushpuppies weren’t any good.

This is one of places my husband and I like to eat. There food is always fresh, crispy, not greasy and is ten times better than Long John. I went thru to get dinner, and when I got home the food is disgusting. It’s greasy, tastes old, looks like it’s been sitting all day, and the coleslaw isn’t even cold. I do not know what’s happened, but whatever it was, it needs to go back, I just threw $25 in the trash.

I love captain D’s it is one of my favorite fast food restaurants however the last time I was there we thought the slaw was spoiled. The recipe was changed. My husband likes everything and he spit his out. Every person that evening went up and complained about the slaw. It’s just slaw so it’s not a big deal. I still love captain d’s though.
