At our Kettering, OH location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

We went and ate inside, which I would recommend. The food was nice and hot and so delicious. We went later and the checkout person was goofing around with us a bit which was nice. The place was clean. It was only my husband and I in there so it was quiet and a nice eating experience. We got 2 meals and a drink and it was a good price for what we got.

Service was great super busy drive thru had a line when we walked in and only took a second for all the staff that was amazing to serve us. Food was horrible. The fish had no taste.. Was like a fish stick inside almost a mush. Google mentioned the fish changed to swai.. The breading clearly changed and was horrible. More like the catfish breading. Sorry i wont be back lost a life time lover of captain ds.

The food wasnt as great as I was hoping it would be. And my sweet tea was a coke. But maybe it was the day and shift flakes happen not counting out for improvement.

I’ve always liked Captain D’s and haven’t got it in awhile until today. I saw the new lobster rolls and wanted to give them a try. Unfortunately they were stone cold and look vastly different than what’s advertised. It didn’t even come with the lettuce on it to make it look a bit more appetizing. My only other complaint was the taste of the Dr. Pepper was off, it tasted like carbonated water with little syrup. Fish tasted okay.

Fish was good. But they forgot our hush puppies. Not good. Sounded upset when I got to the speaker and told him I had a online order. Tell me that would be 15 to 20 minutes because they just received it. But isn’t it the same as going through the drive-thru. Isn’t it the same concept why do they have to pull me out of line?

I love Captain D’s! I love their fried fish. It’s absolutely delicious and very reasonablely priced for what you get. If you want fish and chips this is the place to go!

This time we bought 2pc tender fish. Just fish no meal or anything. The girl said wait as we just dipped the fish into fryer. I tell you guys…this wait was best wait ever. The warm and fresh fish fry was the best.
