At our Zanesville, OH location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

For those that enjoy fried fish, it’s really good. It isn’t fancy or anything, but the service and everything is great. I’ve never had anything out of the kitchen that was bad. The giant fish sandwich is leaps and bounds ahead of other fast food versions and consistently delicious.

Ordered off grub hub as I was in a hotel unable to really go anywhere, place was under the name catfish kitchen (false advertisement imo) so by some of the pics I was expecting something a bit more top notch. The frys was very bad. Catfish pieces was very small and lack luster. The fried shrimp seemed old like it’s been sitting for awhile. Overall not pleased at all.

Update: had to give them an extra star as this has become one of my favorite places to eat in town.
I absolutely LOVE their lobster rolls. I’ve been to main and had the “best”. In my opinion, this $5 order is better. I like that they shred it and throw lettuce under it and the buns are delicious. This with a side of green beans and a tea have become a weekly trip for me. Historically, their staff have always been really nice for a fast-food restaurant and even take your trays and bring you refills if you’re with a senior which has been nice. They just haven’t had anything I liked enough to be a regular for until now.

Very rude when picking up, and then my food looked like the photos below, barely any rice, and a tiny piece of salmon, none of it taste good either. My family’s meals also looked poorly done and barely anything, won’t go back.

I feel for the employees trying. The kids running the counter, one especially seemed stoned or out of it. Just wandering around, seemed clueless and didn’t care about other angry customers.Been coming there for 20 years won’t be coming back.

Great food, fast service, and friendly staff at the Zanesville Ohio location!! Loved the clean atmosphere and my meal was fresh and delicious. Definitely coming back!
