At our Leitchfield, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

We are traveling from Ohio to Texas and stopped today for lunch. I had never eaten at a Captain D’s before, and everything about this visit was excellent! The young ladies at the counter were very friendly and helpful! The food was fantastic, and the restaurant was very clean. The extra touch was the young lady checking in on tables and offering refills. I was very satisfied and would recommend this location! The next time we are in town, we will plan to visit again! Thank you to all the staff!

Best Fish Sandwich Ever
The fried okra is amazing, and cooked perfectly! I love their green beans. I’ll have to try their white fish and shrimp next time.
Update June 17th 2024 I tried their white fish and shrimp, shrimp was rubbery(chewy) and white fish had too much seasoning and it killed my stomach, not sure what it was, I’ll stick with the fish sandwiches for now on.

Typically the food and service is better than we received. I will give them the credit of having a bad day. Food was extra greasy and the grease tasted old. Fingers crossed next time will be better.

This is one of the best places to eat in Leitchfield. The food is always hot and fresh. They never skimp on portions. The restaurant is always nice and clean. The staff is nice and friendly. They will come around and ask you if you need a refill and get it for you. I’ve never had a single issue eating here. Love this place!

Don’t even bother ordering the sides. Lol. The coleslaw comes in a tiny dipping sauce container for $2.50. What a joke!

The food was amazing. Only dislike was we were told we couldn’t sit on one side of the dining room, after sitting there because they were going to mop there. Less than 5 minutes later someone else sat in the same area and weren’t told to move. The floor was not mopped while we dined in. Which it shouldn’t be on a Saturday evening during busy hours.
