At our Mayfield, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

ETA: I find it very ironic that Captain D’s can reply here but won’t actually reply to my emails from the contact us part of their website (which is the only way to contact them.)

We ordered via mobile order yesterday for dinner – app claimed our food would be done at 6:30. At 6:40, my husband walked in to pick up the order and when they finally acknowledged him, the cook shouted ‘oh, yeah, we haven’t even started that one yet.’

A few minutes later, they told him they didn’t have any chicken – which was half our order. We asked what the options were and they basically said ‘cancel the order, we can’t do anything else.’

There is no place to cancel an order on the app. I went in person today to try to resolve the issue – they let me stand at the counter for 20 minutes and then told me there was nothing they could do except take my info for their general manager. They would not give me that persons info nor would they call them so I could speak to them. The person working the counter just stood blinking at me while I tried to explain that it didn’t feel right to send me away again while they were in possession of my money.

So right now, they have $30 that belongs to me but they have provided me no service or product. I am willing to wait the 45 minutes it usually takes to get food because it is usually delicious. But I can’t deal with paying for something and not getting it.

Ordered food through the app and was shown it would be ready in 15 minutes. Ordered 2 family meals. I Arrived after 20 minutes. I walked in and was not greeted. I was looked at and asked “what” by the manager.
The cook in the back was mad about something. The manager asked him about our order and he replied with “I’m working on it” not in a nice way.

The manager called me “little buddy” when I was sitting and minding my own business after she wanted to ask me about my thoughts on the drink prices. That’s why I don’t buy their drinks. McDonald’s is cheaper for a large compared to a small at D’s.

The manager and the cook got into an argument when the cook was snapping at the workers. Other people inside the restaurant were waiting for their food for a long time and were asking if it got lost.
I did not receive my order for a total of nearly 50 minutes after placing the order on the app.

The fries were stale and brown from over cooked grease.

The chicken was overcooked and looked shriveled up.

The manager had forgotten to hand me my sides also. Luckily it was in a bag already when I came back in. We made sure to check all the food before we left. They seemed confused on a lot of orders at the drive thru. That’s why we checked ours.

After that experience, I just don’t have the confidence to turn around and buy food for my family there anymore. Was not worth the $70 I spent at all. The fries are always what I look forward to, but they were a waste.

Husband got 2 meals at the drive thru for dinner tonight. I had the broiled salmon with a baked potato and macaroni & cheese. My fish wasn’t done, my potato was old & dark, mac & cheese was watery, I didn’t get a breadstick or butter, sour cream, a napkin or cutlery. My husband’s meal was just as bad as mine. $30 went straight into the trash. We will NEVER eat here again!

Ordered meal at 8:42pm
Order sat there for an hour before a dasher picked up. Delivered at 10:01pm
After an hour of sitting there waiting, a manager SHOULD HAVE thrown it in the trash and remade when dasher arrived. Everything was trash. Got a credit of $11 on a $24 meal is ridiculous.

I went through the drive thru for the first time eating here. I was appaled at the quality of this place. Everything was just thrown together in the box. The quality of the food was unbearable to the point where I couldn’t eat it. There was so much salt in the fish that it actually burned my mouth and was un-eatable. My order was basically thrown at me through the drive thru window. I don’t know how this place stays in business, it’s the worst of the worst!!!

Went to drive through last night they said only three people working waited 20 minutes never heard another word people was waiting at window for there order never seen such bad service I just left and went to hardies was in and out in 5 minutes.

I don’t like going here anyways every time I do I feel like I’ve been robbed. 2 med drinks that are watered down almost $7. I dnt see how its legal to price gouge like that. My upgraded side of corn on the cob was literally turned! It was not the right color and tasted like rotten vegetables.
$35 for 2 nasty meals and 2 watered down drinks I won’t never be back in this sorry excuse of a restaurant.

Extremely slow service. I can’t really rate the food because we never got it. They mixed alot of orders and we had waited almost an hour and still had not gotten our order. They were out of several items, like french fries.
