At our Pikeville, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Fast-food chain serving fried fish & shrimp combo meals along with gumbo & funnel cakes.

The food tasted decent but it was cold. Why is there a problem with restaurants in Pikeville as far as the food either being bad or cold? Also, I ordered coleslaw but she didn’t add it to my order so I didn’t get it, after repeating the order back to me. The actual restaurant was nice inside.

Yes, it was 7:15 pm when we arrived…but does that mean all the food had to be just barely warm?? We were starved. Waited to eat HERE because we can’t get it at home. Major disappointment. When we left I told them it was all cold and he said sorry.
When I spend $25 in a fast food spot, I expect much more!

They change the products witch changes the the taste of the food Take Pizza Hut for example the Pizza Hut smell and taste is long gone. Here is no different can’t blame the workers it’s corporate going cheap cutting corners buying cheaper products and not careing what they feed the people McDonald’s KFC Wendy’s are no different Good luck America the taste of the good food of the passed is GONE!!!

The only place in pikeville that has the best associates. Food always satisfying. Drive thru is always friendly.

The food was better than I was expecting. The fish was fresh, light, and the crust was crunchy. The shrimp was good but a bit greasy. The stuff crab didn’t have much crab meat in it, but tasted good. The tatar sauce is good. The cocktail sauce is mild.

Don’t order the fish and chicken unless you’re 7. About 2-3 bites each. And both mine and my wife’s baked potatoes were cold. Sad part is I usually eat here and I understand everyone makes mistakes. But I paid $7 for a happy meal and didn’t even get a toy lol!

I ordered a fish and chicken meal. Now on the DR ve thru menu it has what the meal is supposed to look like. Well they they served me 2slivers of fish that are maybe an inch wide and that’s being generous and one little chicken tender and one chicken nugget. For $15 bucks, this is ridiculous. If you wanna pay a lot for nothing, well this is the the place for you. Just bit into a barely cooked hush puppy. Idk how places stay in business serving this. If I owned this place I’d be embarrassed to try and get away with this.

This place has been my go to, in the Pikeville area for years. It was far better than Long Johns. and those were our only options. But the last few time I got food from there was terrible.

Just about 4 days ago, I stopped at Captain D’s, got the seafood supreme platter, I chicken tender on the side, and the cheese cake. Sadly, the only thing I enjoyed, was the cheese cake.

My hush puppies were burnt, the slaw was warm, the fish tasted old and the batter was hard to bite through. The stuffed crab thing was almost black and super dry. Fries tasted old, not fresh at all. The shrimp was the same way, stale, hard to bite through and so on.

None of it really had a taste, it was super bland. I haven’t had Long Johns in years but, I would probably recommend it over Captain D’s right now. Which is truly sad, because Captain D’s used to have the greatest good in town and at better prices. No you gotta play $10 for less than even mediocre food.

In the shape it is in, I probably wouldn’t go back.
