At our Lexington, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The food was just okay it’s very bland , but the service left me feeling odd. I placed an online order and went through the drive thru to pick it up, when I got to the window he had me pull up when there were no cars in line, and when he finally brought it out to me it was like he was trying to search inside my car for something the way he was looking into it. The entire interaction made me uncomfortable.

This is the best captain Ds location to exist! I’ve never had a bad experience, Stacy goes above and beyond for her guests. My food is always cooked fresh and delicious. They treat me with kindness + respect, and make sure I always have everything I need. Love coming here it always makes my day better:)

I ordered ahead for pickup. I went in and waited at the counter for assistance. I watched as my food was bagged and sat on the counter. There was one employee working both the window and the inside counter. However, the employee in the back was just standing there looking out the window to the front (not cooking anything) and there was another employee that passed me to wash windows. Finally, an employee who had been standing at the end of the counter (maybe maintenance) asked if that was my food on the counter and I said yes, and he confirmed before giving it to me. The hush puppies were dry and the cheese in the mozzarella sticks had already cooled down and was stiff. The batter on the fish was soggy. Would not recommend unless you want bad service and bad food.

I’m not going to lie the food is fire but my biggest issue I’ve had with this location is every time I’ve gone to the drive-thru it’s taken 30 to 40 minutes to get out of the damn drive-thru and then today there was a person in front of me for 5 or 10 minutes and they haven’t even taken his order yet so I just left

Hot food. Made to order. I enjoy the country style fish and hushpuppies. The $5.99 feature meal is great value. I go there with my young grandchildren…they really enjoy the food, too. The restaurant had a steady crowd, but we were served timely.

Had to wait 30 minutes on cold food and our meals had a breadstick instead of hush puppies. Been nice if they told us they were out of hush puppies, so I didn’t have to waste my time and money.

2 piece fish with slaw and hush puppies. Came in oversized foam container. Slaw was sloppily put in and tasted ok. Hush puppies small and ok. Weird part is could not tell if I was eating fish or chicken. Seemed like it had been cooked hours ago. Ate one piece and dumped the other.

I had quit coming for a while because it was filled with employees that felt they were above their station. They have since done a clean sweep and a whole new team is there serving expediently with smiles that would melt the coldest of hearts.
(You might want to remind any kids that you hire from now on that minimum wage equals minimum skills. If they want a higher wage… earn your worth.)
The food was still hot when we brought it home and to my great joy, the broccoli wasn’t over cooked.
I highly recommend this location.
