At our Louisville, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The male cook was cool, but the front lobby, staff and other lady that cooked my mac & cheese thought it was funny to give me a watery mac & cheese after I complained that the mac & cheese given to me was cold. I eat here 34 times a week. The mac & cheese has been cold. My last two visits. I usually let things slide, but I thought I’d tell them this time because I’m tired of eating macaroni and cheese. They goof around and have bad attitudes. I went This past Tuesday.

Waited at the front counter 9 mintues before the person even acknowledged my existence. Walking back and forth in front of me. “Here or togo”. Food was instantly ready, so it’s not made when you order it. Fries were warm and soggy. Battered fish was decent, had nice crunch, but weird aftertaste .. like a dryness to it, hard to explain. Will I return, highly doubt it. Btw I ordered the $5.99 Fish and Fries.

We waited a long time for our food. When my husband went to ask about it, it was sitting in the window and had been for awhile cause it wasn’t hot at all and the fries were rubbery. We didn’t have napkins so my husband reached over the counter to get some he saw and the girl came out yelling at him and told him if he reached over the counter again he would be escorted out and banned from coming in again. My husband is 79 years old and meant no harm. We will not be back to Captain D’s again. Lots of nicer fish places

As soon as my husband I walked thru the door were warmly welcomed. Not by just one or two staff members. By all of them. We gave our order at the end of the counter. Then drinks. Before we even had time to pay. Our order was up. Head to the dining area to eat. WOW! The dining room is spotless! Even the window sills and floors under the tables were clean against the walls! The food… Delicious! I even ate the hush puppies. I never eat hush puppies anywhere.

Okra fried good, but no flavor
Broccoli, ok if you like straight out the water or microwave with absolutely NO seasoning at all.
The only thing that was good was it was hot, that’s it !!!
Oooo & if you like crust, you get a complimentary pile up under your trashy food.
Now, if you like absolutely no seasoning, not even salt, then you will love this place.

I paid $13.03 for this ♀️ everything was SMALL and COLD I was supposed to have 1 spicy and 1 regular piece of fish IDK what they were? My chicken tenders were a complete and total joke, and tough! They were out of coleslaw so I got extra hush puppies and that was all I got! NEVER AGAIN
