At our Bardstown, KY location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The food and service here was great. They also keep everything very clean. It was bright and open. We sat by the windows and it was a sunny ☀️ day, but nice and cool inside. I had the catfish and it was very tasty. I love their hush puppies, they are very crispy and have onions in them.

Stopped in today for lunch and got the meal of a lifetime!!! I’ve eat a ton of giant fish sandwiches, but never a better one than I had today!!! Perfect hot fish, fries, and a great sweet tea!! Best 8 bucks I’ve ever spent!!! Will definitely be back!!! Thanks guys!!! Y’all are awesome!!!

This is, without a doubt, my favorite Captain D’s. The food is hot and delicious, and the portions are generous. The staff is very friendly, and the restaurant is kept clean (unlike others I’ve visited). Although I live in Louisville, I’ll drive to Bardstown any day for the best! Highly recommended!

Very good experience tonight. My family and I went inside to eat. As soon as we walked in the door the young girl at the counter greeted us and took our order. The food was out to our table within 5 min. The food was excellent and the dining room was very clean. Will visit again soon
