At our Olive Branch, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I visited Captain D’s
6111 Goodman Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654.
Tonight I ordered the 10 pcs Family Fish Dinner and was shocked by what I received. The fish is no longer filets—it’s now just fish sticks. On top of that, the price has skyrocketed. At $43, it feels like I’m paying filet prices for a fraction of the product. Honestly, it’s comparable to when drug cartels cut their product down to a third of what it used to be a few years ago.

I’ll admit, the taste is still good—Captain D’s has always delivered on flavor—but the value simply isn’t there anymore. The job of any business is to attract and retain customers, and part of that means keeping the product consistent. Just like in a relationship, you should keep doing the things that made people fall in love with you in the first place.

At this rate, families won’t be able to afford to dine out or pick up meals if prices keep climbing while portions shrink. Captain D’s, you risk losing loyal customers by changing what made you special.

I recently visited Captain D’s and had an extremely frustrating experience. I attempted to use a mobile coupon during my order, but the drive-thru employee said they couldn’t accept it because they were unable to get it to scan. There didn’t seem to be any effort to offer an alternative solution or honor the discount in another way, which was disappointing.

I understand that technical issues happen, but better customer service or a backup plan would have made a big difference. It left me feeling like my time and effort to use the promotion weren’t valued. I hope management can improve how situations like this are handled in the future.

I haven’t been to Captain D’s in about 6 months. The attitudes of the workers was normal- unfriendly and they couldn’t careless. I ordered the 2 piece battered with shrimp and sides. The sides were good. The shrimp were good. When I bit into the fish, I instantly spit it out. I tried the other piece and had the same reaction. I took it back to the counter and told the lady the problem. She said that no one has complained today and that it must just be me. Then she explained that the type of fish changed from Cod to Swai. I don’t come very often so I didn’t know. She asked me if I wanted her to remake it or get my money back. I didn’t. Captain D’s will not miss my $15- two or three times a year. But I will not go back. Swai is not an acceptable swap, in my opinion.

Came to the restaurant around 630. There was no line, place completely empty. Once I pulled to the window I got my food in under 5 minutes which is not the issue. On one of my order my I had a chicken and fish meal. I received the hardest driest piece of chicken. I ask the lady at the window for them to remake them and the manger standing next to her rolled her eyes and told her to ask me why as if I couldn’t hear her. I explained again why I would like them remade she rolled her eyes again and told them cooks “she doesn’t like how they look” I tried to tell her if it was going to be a problem I’ll take a refund but I was cut off and told they will make them. For them to not be busy and staff standing outside it shouldn’t be an issue with receiving fresh food. I go here often and never received anything so dissatisfying like I did today.

Update: I spent $48 tonight for sub-par food!! What happened?? The potatoes and corn are obviously so old. They should have been tossed….not served!! I am so mad, as the corn costs almost $4 each!! The potato fell apart and was brownish. My pictures don’t show how truly awful it looked. Additionally, one piece of my family meal Cod was just crunchy ends, barely any fish inside. It was too cold and the restaurant was too far for me to return it all. I wish I had checked before driving off. But I trusted them!! I will leave my rating low until this is corrected.

Pretty good food. They’ve been around for years so that’s saying something. It’s my family’s go-to place for tasty Cod and fried whitefish…on our fish-on-friday days. I have never had anything bad here. Customer service is always superb. Highly recommended for best fast food places to dine.

Hands down for the great deals they have and the customer service was great!! I know they can be very busy at times and it can get frustrating but thanks for working so hard morning and evening shift. I’m a constant doordasher so I’m here all the time . But today I decided to try them and it was good. I just was missing my hushpuppies i do recommend ☺️ also props for keeping the store clean

Captain D’s prices increased and fish portions looks to be on a major diet. Drive-thru rep seemed as though she didn’t want to be there the fish is thr same size as the kn8fe. Can’t make this up i forgot to show you the 4 spears in my broccoli container.
