At our Memphis, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Food is always fresh. So for some apparent reason I’m having to add to my last review. Because i was trying to make a new review on 1/7/26. But I am not able to. My last review was awesome. Today not so good. The slaw taste old. The fish and huspuppy was not done. Taste gummy. The corn taste old and tasteless. Very disappointed. I wish people took pride in there work. The workers are overworked and understaffed…I’m assuming underpaid as well…This location needs to hire more staff because they arelosing customers… it’s no way a store can function successfully with one person running the cash register and the food…please hire more people…Before you loose all your clients to the Bartlett location … Also I asked for a crispy fish and shrimp meal spicy with an extra piece a fish with double broccoli with cheese… Only to get cold old shrimps and old fish that was refried and almost burnt…I’m just saying this gotta stop…

Ordered takeout from here tonight (12.8), got home and the food was cold. We live less than 3 miles so it had nothing to do with travel time. Went back to have them remake it and when the so called cook was told our food was cold and we wanted a remake, he literally sat back there and laughed in our face. Disrespectful to say the least.

A place to visit for a fast meal. I believe the numerical score depends on who’s working. Sometimes the food is fried too hard and other times it is not. The staff at the drive thru are always courteous and greets you with a smile.

I ordered thru Doordash. I ordered 2 pieces of fish and an order of jalapeno poppers. The fish was ok, but spotty due to pots not being skimmed properly. The poppers were the true issue. Overcooked to point the filling was burned out of all but 2. I ordered something cook to order to avoid problems, and sadly, that was a waste of time.
