At our Rockwood, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

My 83 year old mother & I just left Captain D’s. Both of us are having mobility issues so decided to go drive thru. Thank u to the young person taking care of us for their patience & for their suggestions. A wonderfully tasty, hot meal for the both of us sitting out in the sunshine. Can highly recommend the $5.99 meals. Instead of fries, I had green beans & Mom had slaw. We took the $1.99 shrimp & hush puppies add ons too. Yum!

The food is usually pretty good. Some nights there was a bit of a wait at the counter, but I guess being if you are understaffed that’s to be expected. Prices are decent and the place has usually always been clean.

Ordered a 2 piece fish fries and drink that is listed on the menu at the bottom when you pull up to the drive thru. The girl rudely told us nope that’s only on Monday and Tuesday. Opened my meal and there were maybe 6 fries. I will stick with Long John Silvers!

Food was pretty good. The staff was extremely rude! The young man who never spoke to us as attempted to order was the one one who brought out food to the table. Pretty much dropped plates in front of us and dumped the condiments on the table and walked off. Thank goodness we were traveling through as we won’t be back here!! Awful. I would have given 0 stars for service!

Gross. It’s been a couple of years since the last time we ate here. We stopped for a long time at this location due to a weird smell that came from the bathrooms. We decided to stop in and see if it had improved. Not at all! The dining room was absolutely DISGUSTING. The floor was covered in dirt and food and looked like it hadn’t been swept in weeks. Every single table was dirty and had food and crumbs on them. Literally every single surface was dirty. The employee working the register came out and wiped two tables off with a single dry napkin. No cleaning solution or sanitation used whatsoever. There was also a weird smell of exhaust in the dining area. We love Captain D’s but we will not be returning to this location again. It needs serious renovations and better management.

Seriously…. if you dont want to give 2 sides… just make your meals 1 side. This was my side of broccoli … really? Its maybe 1/8 of a cup. Over done. And the rice is crunchy… gross… this location has serious issues. Would prefer long John’s if they would have been open tonight. Are the employees even trying?

I haven’t been here in a long time. It was one awesome meal. The fish and chicken were cooked just right (not greasy). The fries were fresh. The service was very good.

The food was excellent. The service however was not. It was an hour until closing time and the staff had already put most of the items away for condiments. They were not friendly or attentive to our needs at all. They could use a refresher in customer service.
