At our Chattanooga, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I rarely give out a 5 stars but I just had to for this location! The food was amazing and was ready very quickly and the staff were so very nice and the dining area was very clean and orderly. Only thing that I could remotely complain about is there where no sun shades for the windows but truly isn’t a big thing. Been a long while I’ve had a positive experience at a Captain D’s but I reckon I just had to find the right one to go to.

Bought chicken and fish meal and by the time I got home everything was cold and disgusting. I really want my 12 dollars of my hard earned money back cause I’m tired of going to these places and getting nasty food that doesn’t stay warm long. Sad part is I don’t live to far away. Never going back again. Stop getting over on people with this crap food!!

The food was very good. The hospitality was gladly welcomed. I came in around 2 pm on a Wednesday. I didn’t even have to study the menu. I just told the server what I wanted and she pointed out the combo that I needed. And it even had a discount. Most places after lunch hours don’t have discounted prices. But they had 5 all day specials that day, She even brought my plate to my table. That was unexpected surprise. I know I personally thanked her for her service. But I have to give a warm thank you to the ones I didn’t see. Like the cook for that’s making the tasty meals, the people that are cleaning and keeping things shiny and cleaned like new. Certainly beat the competition. I’ll definitely eat here again.

Your people at the drive thru need to lose their attitude and get a personality . We picked up something to eat there last evening and the person at the window talked to fast and at the window did not smile say thank you anything. Your people need to go through training at Chik-A-la. Never have had a good experience at your drive-thru. Last night 8/27/2025 cinched it will not be going there again. I know people have bad days but it seems that most of the people at your restaurant let their lack of enjoying the job come through all the time.
I may give it a try again in the future to see if training may have helped.

When placing my order thru the drive thru window I wasn’t ready on my end so the CDs associate had to make two payments for the order but before I pulled off to go to the pick up window the associate was very informative about my payment. The gentleman was very helpful and very nice about the situation. My order for the family was correct. Great service good food.

OMG what a pathetic experience and excuse for a restaurant. The cashier was a bit challenged, the cook was screaming vulgarity at him so loud the entire eating area could hear yet he couldn’t get orders right. and the girl, perhaps the mgr couldn’t care less. people waiting to place order, no one at counter, pathetic. Couldn’t even eat the chicken.

Ordered 10 piece FISH family meal, received 5 pieces of chicken and the other 5 pieces of fish were the smallest pieces of fish I’ve ever received from Captain D’s. I was the only one in the drive thru so I know it wasn’t a mistake just laziness. Drive thru lady was rushing and rude as well, Spent almost 30$ for the family meal, will not be coming back to this location!
