At our Murfreesboro, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Captain D’s on Cason Lane is hands down the best Captain D’s I have ever been to, and I don’t say that lightly. Every single person who works at this location is phenomenal. From the moment you walk in or pull up, you’re greeted with genuine friendliness, professionalism, and a level of care that is honestly rare these days. The customer service is not just good—it’s perfect. Anyone who has had a negative experience and says otherwise must have been at a completely different location, because this team operates on a whole different level.
The attention to detail here is unmatched. Orders are accurate, food is hot and fresh, and the staff actually takes pride in what they do. You can tell this team works well together and truly cares about customers. They don’t rush you, they listen, and they go out of their way to make sure everything is exactly right. It’s the kind of service that makes you want to come back again and again—not because you’re hungry, but because you appreciate being treated so well.
I’ll say it loud and clear: Captain D’s on Cason Lane is the best Captain D’s in all of Tennessee—if not the entire United States. This team sets the standard for what fast-casual dining should be. Wanted to take a moment to share my experience a few days ago. My family and I were in town from Wisconsin and stress about our stay.
We pulled into the drive thru and ordered and waited. Now most folks get impatient when they wait for fast food at busy times but it tells me one of three things:
1. Not enough staff to handle the orders
2.plently of staff but management is failing in efficient delegation
Or 3. Staffing’s right and management is working, but like at most places of work SOME WORK HARDER AND OTHERS SKATE.
The girl Madison at the drive through doesn’t have a big enough head for all the hats she has to wear, and we saw others around her standing still while waiting on cooking timers. The food was worth the wait!
The fact that she has the maturity to smile through the chaos made an impression on my wife and me.
People want to go where they feel a reliable sense of connection. Your restaurant succeeds at this. Thank you

Little goth girl running the drive thru is to focused on her important texting conversation then to make sure all orders are out appropriately! We went through the drive thru at 8:00pm on a Friday night. Ordered 2 combos and an extra side item. One of the combos didn’t make it in the bag. We had to turn around and go back to get my boyfriend’s food. Then the other meal that we did get was suppose to be a 4 piece chicken and only got 3 pieces of chicken in it. I understand this is fast food and it’s probably a lot of young people working but come on. Do better!

i got the fish and fries for $4.99 with a cole slaw side… total was $6.54.
The drive thru person was friendly
The fish planks were a good size
The fries were a bit skimpy but I didn’t want that much in fries
They included hush puppies
And my side of cole slaw was basically a dollar
So 2 good pieces of fish, fries, hush puppies, cole slaw and extra breading which I enjoyed with tartar and cocktail sauce.
I have no complaints.

My Mom & I bypassed 2 Captain Ds to go to this location because it was the only one with a 4.0 rating. We drove from Antioch to this location and I’m glad we did as the food was spot on. Cooked to perfection. The fish wasn’t greasy, it was fried just right. The fries, corn and hush puppies were on point. The young lady working the drive thru provided exceptional customer service.
