At our Montgomery, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Insulted me when I was walking away quietly without placing the order and without drama after being denied a military discount which I get there always on several occasions I have been there.
Was told never to come back there again when I told him I had a planned budget to be within. Forget the military discount, if this is how you treat common folks who can’t afford the food, I pity you and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Cc- Copy of complaint to corporate not for denying the military discount but for being horribly nasty and rude. I may not have money today but I can have money tomorrow, but it doesn’t give you the license to be rude and miserably nasty to just anybody for not placing an order. I pity the upbringing of your employees and the brand image this treatment creates of you.
It was a new male working the cashier at 120 pm cst, October 16 2025.
Edit: Area Director called me and was very kind on the phone. I appreciate the follow-up and them reaching out to me over this experience. Respectfully.

Long wait, okay customer service. I now remember why I stopped coming to Captain D’s. I haven’t been in years and after this experience I won’t be coming back. I should have followed my gut and the other vehicles and driven away.

The service was good. The food was okay. The big spicy fish sandwich wasn’t spicy and could use more sauce and lettuce for the big pieces of fish on the sandwich. They could also maybe add some onion or something else too. Not much flavor or I was expecting more.

So on Sunday the 20th of August I walked into this Captain D’S to get myself some food and I was surprised to see the cashier serving this young man with no shirt on in a food establishment she even had some issues cashing out his order and she called the manager who came and took care of the transaction and she too didn’t have a problem with this. I guess something must be wrong with me and a few other customers who all had disgusting look on their faces. CAPTAIN D’S AT 949 W SOUTH BLVD MONTGOMERY ALABAMA YOU SHOULD NOT BE SERVING ANYONE WITH NO SHIRT ON IN YOUR RESTAURANT PLEASE DO BETTER AND RESPECT YOURSELVES AND YOUR CUSTOMERS!!

I stopped by Captain D’s to grab some dinner I repeated my order to the lady at the window several times and yet my green beans were missing and my hushpuppies were missing and I realize I should have checked it but I was in a hurry to get home and for some reason they have issues listening to their customers every time we order dinner

It was good staff was great but this company need to just call those chicken tenders chicken bits or super nuggets cause the tenders are small but good fish was a good size and good that’s what made me happy the fish the shrimp is small and flat company fault though it’s overall I’d go back

It was really good! My husband got fish and I got chicken. The chicken was very juicy and flavorful tasted wonderful. My husband said his was also very good. The employees were nice and courteous.

Ordered my food through doordash. Less than 5 minutes after I get the alert that my food was picked up they arrive at my door. They forgot my corn on the cob which I had really wanted. The food was almost just room temperature for it to just been picked up 5 minutes prior. In spite of this the food was good. I will have to order from them again to give them the full 5 stars. I’m just in my feelings about temp and not having my corn on the cob lol

I was recently at this location dining with my daughter and was very impressed by the service and the overall cleanliness of this establishment. The food was hot and delicious. It was late in the day and the dining area was empty but I just enjoyed eating in a clean quiet space.
