At our Boaz, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This restaurant needs new employees who will listen to their customers. I was there on 02/04/26 my family and I ordered a 2 piece Fish meal with French Fries and Mac and Cheese, also we ordered 2 Four (4) piece chicken tender meals with Coleslaw and French Fries. When the order was sent out to us we had the 2 piece Fish with French fries and Mac and cheese and one plate with just 2 chicken tenders and an empty plate. The food was sent back to be corrected they sent the food back out to us one plate had 4 chicken tenders and fries and the other plate had 4 chicken tenders and a double order of French fries no coleslaw on any of the plates.

I went to boaz location with my mother on valentines day. As we were leaving the guy sweeping the parking lot was bent down by my jeep. I didn’t even see him. I walked my mom to the passenger side touched door handle to unlock. This guy stands up and doesn’t see me but says no one wants to steal anything out of the POS I said excuse me he said oh I thought you were inside. I said no I was letting my mom in he said oh well I thought you were inside. He was rude and had no reason to think I was thinking he was trying to steal anything unless he actually looks for stuff to steal while sweeping.

This hands down yhe best Captain D’s in the area. After our last Captain D’s experience(Oneonta,Al-horrible) we were hesitant. The staff was super nice and very attentive during our dine in lunch. The dinning area and bathrooms were clean and fully stocked. Cynthia, the cashier was Amazing-she is truly a gem! We will definitely be returning!

Manager was rude. My brother was being respectful and all she did was give negative responses. Restroom was disgusting, seems like nobody cleans. Will not be back.

Will not be back. I’ve been multiple times and stuff has been left out. Order an a la carte macaroni and cheese for 4 dollars and get an order of it that they put the cocktail sauce in. Did not receive a receipt so I could not show it. The cashier started huffing and screaming when the next person in the drive through come to order and I could hear through the drive thru window.. would give negative stars if could.

I normally don’t go to fastfood restaurants, much less dine-in but I was glad I stopped here. The service was great, the food was prepared perfectly, and I had forgotten how reasonable their prices were. The last Captain D’s I went to took forever to serve the food and it wasn’t good. This place is the exact opposite. Great effort by the manager and staff. Keep it up!!

We tried again tonight. Had to walk out again. Short staffed and one guy was dipping and spitting while working. Wednesday and Sunday senior specials are great on your budget. We have been going here on Wednesday night for 20 years. Tonight we were the third person in line. The second person in line said she had been waiting 20 minutes just to give her order. It has been that way the last two or three times we have visited. I don’t have time to wait two hours for fast food. It’s time to find a new Wednesday spot.
