At our Gadsden, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Cleaner place than the nearby DQ. We had no problems so far with the food. We missed their 4.99 fish and chicken combo but it was only for a certain period time only. We love their cocktail sauce that along with the fish. They give you a lot for a lunch special

Had to wait 40 minutes for our order & there was hardly anyone there. The food was great. This was on a Sunday. The manager was working hard with the rest of the staff that we could see.

Went theough the drive-thru at 8pm on a Tuesday evening. Ordered a deluxe seafood platter with broccoli & mac n cheese. 2 cars in front of me. Took about 15 minutes after ordering. Employees were friendly. Food was pretty blah.. brocolli was refrigerator cold. Mac and cheese was badic but good. Stuffed Crab was super nasty, shrimp vren in the warmer for hours and I didnt even attempt the fish. But then again, its fast food. They charge almost $20 (17.something to be exact) for the meal, but its a LOT of food. Wasnt disgusting, but I wont do it again.

We ordered an additional order of hush puppies and asked about the order at the pick-up window. We were told it was in the bag but when we got home, the order was not in the bag. The portion sizes were also very small. We are frequent customers so we are very disappointed.

It took longer than other Captain Ds to get our food. I was a little bit aggravated until we received our lunch. It was so good!!!! I’ve never had fresher meals at any other Captain Ds. It was definitely worth the wait. WOW!!!!

Food was freshest and best of any capt D’s I’ve been to! All was fresh. I learned to not get veg sides they are disgusting so I now get fries and coleslaw. I love the battered fish but got lobster crab meal it comes with 2 piece fish also. I like the crab cake everything was fresh FIRST TIME AT A CAPT DEES EVERYTHING WAS FRESH. Was slow in drive thru to point I had to turn my truck off it was starting to run hot..thats never happened..but food was good guy at window was very polite ALSO A FIRST FOR ME FROM A CAPT D’s..i was just passing thru Gadsden Al wanted fish at 845 pm. I wish the Capt D’s near me in GA was this good. I never go there because the food sucks

It’s been forever since we’ve eaten here, I’m not a huge seafood fan, but their fish and chicken? Amazing! So fresh, hot, and delicious! And those girls up front were so sweet and professional. The restaurant was clean too!
