At our Hartselle, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I haven’t been to captain ds in months, now I remember why. Not only did they not give me my drink or my sauce at all, I got home and started eating only to find a HAIR COOKED INTO MY MOZZARELLA STICK. Absolutely repulsive and disgusting. I will never be back to this establishment.

I havent had bad food here and service is pleasant. However the dining area is definitely in desperate need of some remodeling and maintenance. They have mold and mildew growing on the walls due to leaking windows and wet paneling. With this much care taken in the dining area the imagination can easily leave you questioning if you should trust the kitchen cleanliness and safety.

The service was great I have no complaints there. But there is spider webs in the lamp shades and dust all over the paper towel holders on the table. Order the Lobster bites which is a rip off. You get 6 for 2.50 and they are no bigger than a quarter. Won’t go back to Hartselle.

I haven’t been to this Captain Ds in years. I decided to give them another try. The fish, shrimp and chicken were all good. The fries I had were a bit soggy. Service was very friendly. I suggest you give them a try if you haven’t been there in a while. I have tried a few times since my previous review and seems like the quality of the fish and chicken and service have improved. Still doing good after serial more recent visits.
