At our Florence, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I recently stopped by Captain D’s for a quick meal, and I was genuinely impressed with the overall experience. From the moment we pulled into the drive-through, everything moved smoothly and efficiently. The line looked a little busy at first, but it kept flowing at a steady pace. The staff working the window were friendly, upbeat, and extremely accommodating to our needs. We had a couple of special requests with our order, and they handled them without hesitation or confusion. It’s always refreshing when a team goes out of their way to make sure everything is just right.
The drive-through service was especially prompt. Our order was taken clearly and accurately, and the food came out hot and fresh without a long wait. The employee at the window greeted us with a smile and double-checked the bag to make sure nothing was missing. That extra attention to detail made a big difference.
As for the food, it was exactly what you expect from Captain D’s—crispy, flavorful fish, well-seasoned sides, and generous portions. Everything tasted fresh, and the quality was consistent.
Overall, this visit stood out because of the excellent customer service. Friendly, efficient staff combined with quick and accurate drive-through service made for a very pleasant experience. I’ll definitely be returning soon.

Ms. Holiday was amazing. It’s so rare to get great customer service these days. She really came through. Thank you On a separate visit, we had a problem with our order. Anyiah was wonderful communicating with her GM, Bree. Jay the manager on duty replaced our order efficiently with excellent customer service. Thank you all.

On the 13th I ordered meal well it was the deal that they had on the app for the meal. It was like two of them and I didn’t know that we could paint oh we got a meal. It was all wrong and macaroni and okra and then that’s not what I wanted. I wanted Oprah on boat and my husband macaroni to store to pick my food up and I have to pay additional almost 3 dollars for the $20 that I had done to get home a cold puppy were nasty and we didn’t even enjoy them more because it wasn’t what we wanted and I was able to take a photo of it but I didn’t because it’s not what I was thinking of I was really upset because that was My birthday hello my husband and I did not get her food because nasty that I paid for. I got 6 Cold hush puppies from my point and they were all nasty. I don’t know way of talking to anybody I called. Nobody will call me back so I won’t be going back there. I was hoping to have a great birthday meal and that didn’t happen. Both of the meals were gross

Fish and fries tasted like it was cooked the day before. It came out of the kitchen 10 seconds after I ordered. Very disappointed. I won’t be back. I will say the lady taking my order was very good. Nothing wrong with the service. It just can’t make up for stale food.

We love captain D’s but yesterday’s meal was not the best. The fish was tough, the fries were over cooked and the slaw had a wang..the cashier was hard of hearing we had to repeat ourselves a lot and the Pepsi machine broke while getting our first fill up…they need a better selection of drinks & newer machines. The crunchies tasted of old grease. The clam strips were good.

I just want to take a minute and brag on the young man that was at the window last night, he was so polite and had a smile on his face the whole time, I know the atmosphere and I’m so impressed with him. After everything I said it was yes ma’am or no ma’am. All I have to say is great job young man. I believe his name is Ladrevon. Of course my food was great too! Nobody wants to do compliments anymore just complaints but this young man deserves some recognition!

It has been sometime since I’ve came to the D’s for dinner.
Probably 10 years or more.
First I’ll start with the D’s crew, top notch!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!They handle there customers like no other!!my shock is the price!
I got the 4 piece fish,coleslaw, fries… $11.39 plus drink $3.09 one would think drink would be included but it wasn’t.Fish was great hot and fresh!!Fries were cold,coleslaw terrible, hushpuppies tolerable. Wife got a 2 piece fish, coleslaw and a bake potato. 2 piece $8.49 plus $1.00 for potato plus $3.09 for a drink. I can’t see the logic in the prices. $30.00 is kinda over priced for fast food. Overall the fish was dynamite!! The sides not so much..I’m guessing the owner is living large,sending there kids to top schools an the wife probably drives a Lexus or Mercedes to a day spa lol either way I’ll make better decisions about where I go for dinner.

I always forget about this restaurant. No offense. Florence has so many restaurants. I had a craving so, I stopped by. I ordered the Fish and Shrimp. For my sides I ordered okra and macaroni and cheese. My food was ready before I could even sit down. It was hot and fresh and so tasty! The restaurant is decorated really cute and very festive for Christmas. Thank you Captain D’s.
