At our Tuscaloosa, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

My son and I ate there a few days ago. I got the 3pc fish with double fries. My fish was NOT greasy; It was FRESH, HOT and so GOOD. I normally put sauce all over it… there was NO need. My son got the 3 pc chicken. He said he had NO COMPLAINTS. The employees were TOO KIND and even brought our food to us. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! MUCH, MUCH LOVE❌⭕️❌⭕️

Went in for dinner tonight. Simple order, fish and fries, chicken tenders, and fries. Paid for my food and sat down… after three people that came in after me ordered, received their food and left. I asked the gentleman behind the counter if there was an issue with my order which he said he did not know. He went and asked the manager on two separate occasions, and her answer was waiting on the chicken. I stood there while a few more people came in, received their food and left before my to go order was bagged. All said only about 30 minutes. Not a big deal but while I was waiting, I noticed that the manager was in the kitchen preparing food, not wearing anything to control her hair nor anybody else working this shift. The entire atmosphere was off. Everyone working this shift looked miserable. There was no communication happening. Just people looking at the rube lady in the blue shirt with a big head of hair struggling to run a crew of 4.

I’m very disappointed with how my food was prepared & given to me. I ordered two of the grilled white fish meals, and the fish was burnt on one side. I called the restaurant and spoke with 3 different people, before I could properly explain the issue. Unfortunately, the third person told me that I would have to bring the food back in order for them to replace it. I told her I was on lunch, and that I couldn’t come back. Unfortunately, when I asked her if I could get a free meal replacement, she repeated that I would have to bring it back. I asked for her name (Angela or Angel), and I ended the call afterwards. My order was placed not even an hour into them opening, so I don’t understand how the quality of my food was horrible! I’ve never had a bad experience at this location but I’ll definitely be hesitant to go back.

Tonight’s employees must hate their life. My drink was incorrect, the guy stares at me like I’m a probably trying to get their attention to correct it. Then, almost like they wanted us to see them slowly make my drink, that took way to long.. only to find out (after we drive away) they have not fixed the drink syrup or carbonation and served me a disgusting drink, on purpose. I stopped at Captain D’s today. I ordered the $5.99 flounder, shrimp, and fries meal. I asked for green beans instead of fries. The flounder was coated in a seasoned cornbread crust and was hot. It came with five shrimp, and a couple of hush puppies. The green beans were not that great. I had a stem in mine. The place was clean and quiet. The service was great. My meal was delivered to me and so were the condiments. Two tartar sauces and two cocktail sauces.

Go to drive thru and it took a min to even answer speaker even though they was not busy; was cut off before I even finished ordering! I ordered the fish and chicken with okra fried hard and fries my okra was barely fried but had so much grease in it you could fill a few napkins with grease, fish could have been cooked longer and my chicken tenders are died bad Also asked for honey mustard and tartar sauce didn’t get it!! I didn’t see this til I got home,, called the store 3x to resolve the problem no answer!!! I do not recommend going there if this the type of service they are dishing out for the cost of the service we pay!

Not very friendly at this location ordered the sandwich and fries pretty much just threw the bag at me and slam the window no thank you or anything like that. Whoever is managing this location should go down to the Chick-fil-A across the road and see what real customer service is about.

Some great fish and breaded shrimp! Lots of parking, the drive up window was packed! With cars going around. I had mine dine in and the service was really quick and the food was fresh and hot. It was more than what I expected for fried food. The Cole slaw was remarkably good. The picture is the fish and chips with a side of shrimp.

I don’t know who they have cookin tonight but, the food has physically made me sick! The fish is partially cooked and the hush puppies feels like mush and taste like uncooked cornmeal with water! The guy that working the window tonight didn’t put my condiments in the bag and walked off so fast, I had to go through the line a second time and he automatically said “There’s no fish or chicken, it will be 30 minutes before we can make some more.” With an attitude … sir I just wanted my condiments you forgot. This is my last time going there… I’m seriously feeling nauseous from eating here.
