At our Union Park, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I would like to share feedback regarding our recent visit to Captain D’s on E Colonial Drive.
Unfortunately, our experience was not as pleasant as it has been in the past. The cashier—whose name may have been Talliana according to the receipt—initially greeted us and asked for our order. However, while we were in the middle of ordering, her demeanor changed noticeably. When we politely asked to make a modification to our order after seeing another menu item that caught our attention, she appeared visibly frustrated. She rolled her eyes and sighed, which made us feel as though our request was an inconvenience.
We understand that working in customer service can be challenging, and we always aim to be respectful when placing our orders. However, the interaction felt unprofessional and unwelcoming. A more patient and courteous response would have made a significant difference.
We visit this location occasionally and have not experienced this type of service before, which is why this was disappointing. I hope management can address this matter through additional coaching and customer service training to ensure a more positive experience for future guests.

I placed an online order for two fish dinners, only to receive loud snotty service, cold fried fish, cold fries and sour smelly bad coleslaw. Went online to the Captain D’s website and wrote some feedback for the union park store with no response. There is a reason the parking lot is always empty and the store has been up for sale forever. It sucks because I grew up eating here as a kid and it brings back a lot of memories. Employees are always nasty and never friendly and it’s almost like you’re bothering them to patronize the restaurant. The food I got speaks for itself! No thanks

Was our Favorite Fish & Chips to enjoy. was there this evening at 6:30pm ordered the 2 piece fish got the loaded Baked Potato Wife had the Fish, Shrimp Meal. the food came out right away it was cold the potato didn’t even melt the butter or sour cream. that’s how cold everything was. The employees acted like they hate there jobs snotty, and acted like we were imposing on them. Girl with long Red fake hair was very unpleasant. SO DISAPPOINTED. WON’T RETURN

So employee named Crystal (as it appears on the receipt) was taking people on the drive through at first she got mad at us for not being able to hear her on the speaker. So we went to the window and finished our order there. She tells us to pull to the front so we parked in front of the door so that others could keep passing by. When we check our drinks our drinks are essentially empty. We are waiting and wen she approached us she in a rude tone said ofc I would never find you and threw the food bag to the person who was driving and walked off. We threw away the food because we where scared to know if she altered it or not. Normally we get treated wonderfully but honestly what a terrible way to treat their customers.

This is our all time favorite captain D’s and will drive out of our way to stop at this location versus the other locations in Orlando, the team they have is extraordinary and will help in any way they can! Wife lost her wallet and the GM was the absolute most helpful person! Not only pulled up video footage but also personally allowed us to review the footage to assist in finding my wife’s wallet! Cannot thank you enough to the amazing staff and promise to continually return to this exact location for this reason!

Do not eat here. Given that most of the food is seafood which is the king of food poisoning I wouldn’t trust them. Ordered a fish sandwich combo. Fish was lukewarm at best and they used some type of lettuce I’ve never seen. Instead of green it was brown with small patches of greenish yellow. Fries were stone cold. Food safety doesnt seem to be much of a concern. Threw everything away instead of risking it.

Without a doubt, Captain D’s is comfort food done right. When I’m craving seafood, this is my go-to spot. I usually order one of their seafood feasts — fish, shrimp, clams — you name it. It always hits the spot without hitting my wallet too hard.
Compared to spending $100 at a sit-down seafood restaurant, Captain D’s gives you great flavor and variety at a fraction of the cost. The sides alone are worth mentioning — I think they offer at least eight, with a mix of classic and premium options, so there’s something for everyone.
If you’re in the mood for seafood without the price tag, this is a solid choice every time.

I ordered a chicken sandwich it was two chicken tenders between the buns and one pickel, my side was okra, which was up charge , no problem with that the problem was the potion, I counted the okra 14 small pieces of okra. I also ordered the seafood platter, the crab was dried out and 5 small pieces of broccoli although the corn and fish was ok, don’t quote me wrong the lady that took our order was exceptional nice, not worth visiting again
