At our Milton, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I have never been so disappointed. I haven’t gotten to go to Captain D’s in over 10 years, and it was a childhood favorite growing up so my fiance and I went. Of course prices are expected to rise, but the quality and quantity for the price was definitely Not worth it. I will not be back. $20 for two meals, that took 29 minutes to get once we ordered. The food was hot, I will give them that. There was one girl running both the drive through and front counter, and not sure how many cooks they have, but I only saw one and it didn’t seem to be enough. As soon as we got our food 29 minutes later, I went to pre-order a meal to go for my son, so it would be ready when we left. I was informed it would be about an hour before they could have it ready since a large table of 6 came in after us. I decided to go somewhere else.

I like the food, especially the battered fish dipped in malt vinegar. The service was very quick since they weren’t busy at the time. The restaurant was clean, but the black stains on the white ceiling tiles are off-putting to me. The roof or air ducts need to be sealed better.

We did the drive through today but the sign is all torn apart missing items or the sign is just empty. I tried to tell the person and they actually walked outside to see the sign missing any advertising and then explained to us what we were asking about. I tried to make a joke about it at the window but was just ignored and didnt get our sauces we had asked for. This is not the employees fault but if the fish gets any smaller the shrimp will be bigger than the fish.

Place was leaking water inside. Cashier didn’t greet us (well, no one did) and walked by me 3 times before acknowledging me (they had a busy drive through?).
Just didn’t feel inviting, and the food was about as bland as the service. Not bad, but definitely below average, and I know there are better fish places around.

Food is always hot and fresh when We go and customer service is excellent. Just wondering why there is almost always very few to no people inside or in the drive through. We will always go here when we get the craving.

The staff was great and polite. However, the food took almost twenty minutes, the broccoli was cold, they couldn’t do a couple kinds of items (green beans, batter dipped anything), I think they were having some kind of problems with the equipment. Several other customers walked out. I had avoided coming here for over a year because the place looked shabby and I don’t know how they stay open with the ceiling that looks like it had black mold. I decided to try again, the place looks worse and obviously they can’t keep up their equipment. I don’t think I’m coming back at all. I’ll suffer with a McSquare Fish on Fridays instead (a true penance indeed).

Door dash said our food was delivered and it wasn’t. We had to drive to the restaurant ourselves only to be told nothing they could do. Called door dash and they refunded us and gave a credit. All of this took about 2 hours. So frustrating. The driver had delivered to us once b4 so im not sure where she took that food but im probably not using the service anymore. Not worth the hassle. We were eating in the moonlight.
