At our Marianna, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

If I could give this place a zero I would! I came in for lunch on 9/12/24 at about 11:45 a.m. I ordered the fish with lobster bites and shrimp and broccoli and fried okra as my sides. When my order was brought to the table about 15 to 20 minutes later all I received was two pieces of fish and broccoli. I notified the lady with dyed blonde hair at the register she was very apologetic and went into the kitchen to get my missing items. The cook (a young girl with black hair in a ponytail & glasses) with the other lady came to my table and “I put everything on your plate what did you do with the food?”. The lady was very rude and I was worried she would spit on my food. When my missing items were brought to the table the okra was perfect, the shrimp was fried hard and the lobster bites were raw and ice cold. I will not eat there again when that particular cook is working.

The food was good! The coleslaw could have been colder but other than that I was impressed with the food. Pretty close to long johns. The jalapeno popper were good as well.

I got a plate for $12 with the stuffed crab shells way over cooked couldn’t get it loose with my fork…then when I took a bite after getting it loose. It had a whole piece of a crab arm I’m assuming because it crunched and my mouth was full of shell. I had to spit it out. Also the hush puppies didn’t taste like hush puppies, which was disappointing because I ordered 6 it taste like bread with no flavor it was gross I spit it out too. The fish was brown from being over cooked. The clams were okay I got them as an added side But my entire plate I ordered was not good and I’m not eating it. Waste of $26 minus the clams became they were okay. Tried to eat just the fries and they are soggy and taste like old burnt grease. Worst experience ever ! I won’t be back!

This was the nastiest Captain Ds I have ever been to. Just dropped in on the way to Panama and the flies were overwhelming! All the tables and floors were dirty and workers bringing food out to customers on dirty trays! Never have I ever seen a restaurant so nasty.

Came by for lunch and asked for the Fish and Chicken Meal.. I didn’t get a drink or asked about one.. Usually when someone says “Meal” or “Combo it means they want the food and beverage.. The lady was very nice at the drive thru

Me and my family, along with close friends have been doing a survey on our Marianna restaurants. We have dined in a few times over the past month or so and I must say that the food and service has been spot on. The New GM has done an outstanding job bringing in new hires/ cooks,etc. My wife Beth actually told the cook this past Sunday while eating lunch that the fish was absolutely amazing. He was polite and kind and very appreciative for the compliment. It’s important to give compliments to the workers when the food and service are fantastic. Captain D’s is one of our favorite places to eat. We just started back coming because we heard that the restaurant was under new management. We tried both lunch and dinner times and decided that lunch time is better because the cook , the older lady who fixes the food and the young lady who wears the head set are the best team we’ve experienced by far. I wish I knew all there names. I just know the cook has a really bright smile . Please take the time to let those workers know we appreciate the service and food. Good job GM for turning our Marianna Captain D’s around. My family and friends are looking forward coming again for years to come. The only thing that is lacking is the dinner time service and fix the grill.

Shalonda freakin rocks!!!! She completely runs that place in a rush or stand still. Plus she has an amazing attitude!!! Our food was super fresh and delicious! (But the service made the trip❤️)
