At our Jacksonville, FL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

The staff was rude, and the food was not worth the price. Run any place else. Look at the pics, then look at the prices. The staff and friends had massive plates of the best cuts to pour salt on the wound. They were out of mac and cheese, and the girl at the register needed a serious attitude check. I see why this place was empty!

The 5 stars is taking into consideration this is a fast food style restaurant. I’m rating it based on what it is.
This isn’t the best seafood around, but it is very good for what it is. I’ve passed by hundreds of Captain D’s over the years and I have never pulled the trigger on actually going.
I stopped in today and got the deluxe seafood platter and it was surprisingly good. Huge portion for $12, fresh and piping hot, friendly service, in and out in roughly 5 minutes.
If you want quick seafood, I’d recommend here. It’s solid.

I ordered the fish meal, which I love. I should have known to be more diligent when I saw what appeared to be mostly teenagers working. The service wasn’t terrible, but if my order is wrong I have to take a star away from you for service. I get home and sit down to a meal of 2 shriveled chicken fingers and brocolli with water in the container. I love and would recommend Captain Ds Big fish sandwich and fish meal (which is what I was expecting).Their mistake today was Very disappointing. This experience taught me two things: Don’t count on previous service, hold up Captain Ds line and check the order, and secondly, dont ever order the chicken fingers. I wish I’d photographed it but my disappointment distracted me. Were it not for the 2 hushpuppies ( ) I wpuld have thought it was a kids meal. Afterthought: I strain my brocolli, can we get food without water in the slot with the sides, please?

We walked in and the 2 white female workers behind the counter were gossiping. We watched the timer above their heads for 90 seconds before they even acknowledged the lady in front of us. Both workers at the front were very rude and unfriendly. The young black girl with red hair in the back was cursing listening to the people in the drive thru and talking badly about them. We didn’t get the correct food we ordered. The okra was burned to a crisp. More than half of the types of sodas were down. When are food arrived the tray was dropped down on the table and the employee immediately walked away. Everyone was complaining it was after 4pm and they were going to miss the bus. Once the girl in the back and one of the front counter girl left there were no other employees in sight.

Used to be an okay place, now not at all. Last 3 times have been a horrible experience, this last time I came was the icing on top. Firstly I spent $40 at this place the hush puppies were stale, they tasted as though they had been cooked and put back in grease to reheat. The lobster rolls were just bread and filling, no lettuce. Fries were cold, fish was old, nothing was fresh.
I wanted honey mustard because it was a family meal, I got none. When I went through the drive thru to ask for some, the guy answered and mid talking stopped responding. The white girl then got on the speaker and I asked for just some honey mustard and she did the exact same thing. I decided to pull up to the window and then she proceeds to tell me that they have no honey mustard. You couldn’t say that at the speaker?? Whole staff needs to be reevaluated.

The food was great, but lately the drive thru staff tends to have you park to bring out the food ,but 20+mins later you end up going in the store to retrieve your food ,that’s usually bagged up on the counter, but know one has taken the time to bring the food to your car.

I waited for 30 mins to receive cold fries and then all my orders had fries in them but I went inside to wait another 5 mins to just get a handful of fries food was cold to the point I had to put everything in the air fryer that place will never and I mean NEVER GET MY SERVICES NO MORE and I need to talk to someone in higher management because this is unacceptable
