At our Thomasville, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I was there today, 2/28/26 around 3:30pm. One cashier- must compliment this lady. She was so busy.. very organized, beautiful smile and very friendly and kind to everyone. Wonderful and friendly service! Didn’t get her name – but she deserves a huge raise I pay!!!

On October 11 around 2:30pm I stopped at this location, first of all it smelled like sewerage so I turned around and walked out. As I was driving to exit the parking lot I noticed 3 individuals in uniform out back smoking which explains why after enduring the smell as long as I could no one ever came to the front counter to take my order.

Although they say the food may be good this place and its staff need some upgrading and training. Everybody could not have been on break at the same time.
Matter of fact somebody could’ve been cleaning the restroom because that’s what it smelled like in there. I couldn’t believe there was actually a lady in there eating enduring the smell but I guess everybody is different!! IJS

I spent $19.19 on 4 pieces of fish, because I stopped getting their sides a while ago because are they hot or fresh tasting. I ordered 4 pieces of fish, got home 30 minutes away and there’s 2. Not to mention EVERYTHING takes forever. That was my last trip.

Wow! What an experience this evening. I had to go through 3 people to get a refund for a drink I did not order. Obviously taking our order in the first place was an inconvenience and I had to ask the cashier 3 times to refund my money. She seemed to have no intention of returning it… She finally begrudgingly called an even less pleasant gentleman from the back to handle it. Sorry, but NOT MY FAULT. A few minutes later, as we’re dining, the man that ordered behind us is still waiting for his food. He asks if the takeout box sitting in the window was his. He got a smart-mouth reply from the cashier and it escalated from there. I highly recommend that Corporate check the video footage of the front counter approx 8:10pm this evening. You’ll be shocked to see several of the counter staff yelling at an elderly gentleman about disrespecting them. He wanted his food while it was hot and he didn’t appreciate them screwing around ignoring his order. We all agree with him!! All this drama aside, the 4 piece dinner is completely misrepresented. It is actually a two piece meal with the filets cut in half lengthwise. I’ve been eating at Captain D’s for over 50 years;since they opened in Tallahassee in 1969.Do you really think we won’t notice if you cut the portion in half? Geez…. Oh, and get this, they were out of napkins. At least that is the answer that was snapped at me when I went to the counter to ask for some. Not that she even bothered to look at me. The worst part is that I’m not really even surprised by this type of behavior. At least on this visit, they were inside manning the business. We’ve stopped by before when they were all out in the parking lot visiting and no one even came inside to take our order. We left after several minutes of that…

Went the other day waited at the speaker to be waited on, finally they got my order after 10 minutes. I drove to the side a car at the window I waited 15 more minutes got so agitated I just drove off. This is absolutely ridiculous. There is no reason for having to wait this long at a fast food restaurant for a short order. I don’t think I will be back.

First off, I have been eating at this Captain D’s since it was first built. I love their food. BUT, when the “manager” has an Afro with no hair net on, postpones getting my food ready because he comes from the back to talk to his friends, and the cashier at the drive-thru tells me they’re out of cocktail and tartar sauce before I order, it doesn’t sound too promising. However, I wanted some fish, hush puppies and double green beans. So, I place my order.
My son is with me and wanted bite-sized shrimp, but he wanted tartar sauce. I get up to the window and pay. I’m waiting and then the cashier comes back and tells me they’re out of green beans, too, and asks if I’d like something else. I tell her double mac & cheese. I get my food after about 15 more minutes. I check my food and my mac & cheese is about a heaping tablespoon in each of the side compartments, and I have no hush puppies at ALL!! I ask her where the hush puppies are, and she said that they’ve been getting SO MUCH BUSINESS and people are placing big orders with coupons, for FAMILY MEALS, that they run out of things and corporate doesn’t send it, and they can’t help it!! Last time I checked, they have internet and phone service. I think it’s the mgr’s job to order? However, he has to rush out the front door into the parking lot to talk to his friends, while he’s still on the clock!! The employees are really lazy, and a different cashier was eating food on the front counter!!

They took too long to make the food. After we got our food they wanted to get it back because if was the wrong food. Didn’t have forks or tarter sauce for the fish. And the fish tasted like chicken! I felt bad for them.

Horrible service they rung up the wrong order I then asked about cause it seemed wrong and they still proceeded with the order then when my order was wrong they acted like I ordered the wrong stuff Horrible service

We dropped in for a quick bite. They have good food. We got the new $5.99 basket. It has 1 piece fish, some shrimp, and a side. It’s a portion for someone that doesn’t eat much, but if you eat way more…just get a regular meal.
