At our Moultrie, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

My experience here was not good at all my last few visits. On my most recent visit before I began to order I asked the young lady did they accept american express. She answered what’s that? I replied american express the credit card. She then replied we never had a problem with it before. I explained I only asked because some places don’t accept it. She then replied with an attitude rolling her eyes oh well I don’t know I guess you can try if you want to. It didn’t make sense for her to work there and be a manager and not be able to answer a simple question without all the animosity. I ended up leaving without ordering because I didn’t trust her handling my food with that attitude. On my previous visit I pulled up atleast two of the workers were outside smoking and standing around there vehicle laughing. I got inside just to stand there. The workers finally came in one went straight to the back of the store while the other one just stood there. Neither one would take my order. Several people were in line behind me as well. Finally they said someone would be with us but nobody came. The two that were up there began to talk about how they were getting ready to leave and go to the nail shop. They indeed did leave. I stood there another fifteen minutes nobody came and took our order. So I left and the other people in line did to. I don’t think I’ll ever eat there again. The bathrooms are always disgusting the floors are so sticky it squeaks when you walk. The service stinks that place needs intervention by professionals asap.

Can someone please explain how this is a business open to the public. Where do the public bathrooms. But somehow the male’s bathroom is always lock and when you ask an employee they say oh there’s someone in there. Do they live in there? Are they deaf? Because that bathroom door has never been in locked and no one ever answers saying they’re using it.

So disappointed and unimpressed with the food here. We haven’t eaten from a Captain D’s in a really long time and thought we stop here for a late dinner. We ordered 2 meals, both with 2 fish filets, and butterfly shrimp, one had stuffed crab shells and the other with chicken strips. Sides were fries and slaw and double mac n cheese. The fish was so over cooked and dry that we could really only eat the center. The butterfly shrimp were pretty hard as well but not quite as bad. The fries were cold a rubbery but edible i guess and the mac n cheese was just not good. My husband said they did a great job on the chicken strips and the stuffed crab shells were pretty good. We were there an hour before closing and the place was almost dead. Its not like they were scrambling around in there trying to get a whole lot of food out to a bunch of customers. We waited patiently and had no problem sitting there as long as we did because we thought the food would be better. I can remember the last time we came here, has to be over ten years ago…. The food was great! The fish was tender and juicy. They gave you the little crunchy chips of batter that fell off while your fish was cooking… I guess we shouldn’t have went tonight and our last memory would have still been a good one lol this place sucks now.

The food was okay at best. When I walked in the first thing we noticed was the place smelled like weed. Immediately. Employee said that a person in drive-thru blew weed smoke into the establishment some little drive-thru window. Then how did it reach the restrooms? The soda machine wasn’t working right because the carbonation wasn’t working. When I addressed the issue, the employee said yeah. We know it’s been broke a while. Cleanliness was not a highlight of the place. It seemed like they wanted to run their mouths more than do their jobs.

The service tonight was great! The young lady at the window was very sweet and patient from beginning to end. I hadn’t been in a while due to an unpleasant experience my last visit. But I will be back thanks to her 🙂

We ate there (Moultrie, GA location) back on Sunday, November 16, 2025 and we paid with our debit card using tap to pay. On Monday, November 17, 2025 the amount of our bill was both debited and credited to our account. Meaning that we got our food for free. While most people would see this as a good sign, I see it as a possible scam or maybe even a theft. However you look at the situation just beware of them when using your debit card. Make sure you keep a close watch on your account.

Horrible customer service. Waited 30 minutes in drive thru. No one answered speaker and when I finally got to the window was ignored another 15 minutes until an employee with an attitude problem came and said we’re not taking any orders, the kitchen needs time to get caught up and closed the window immediately. Very rude and unprofessional

Was open and still refused service to anybody in the drive thru and kept the doors locked to the inside while peeping around corners and out the windows. Not sure what the workers have going on.
*this experience was about a month or so ago while doordashing, had to cancel the customers order due to this.

Today on 8-9-2023 at 12:30pm I ordered my usual the Grilled Salmon Dinner at Captain Ds located 1200 1st Avenue SE Moultrie Ga, 31768. I am a loyal customer and the food I buy often is pricey, furthermore, today my food was served to me overly cooked and burnt. I asked the lady manager and staff could I get a new meal with better quality. The manager and kitchen staff was very rude to me, I waited 45 minutes and they served me a second salmon dinner that was more severely burnt and unappetizing. I also heard the manager laughing in the kitchen while the girl on front counter pulled out a cigar rolling it in her fingers while she cursed and laughed with the kitchen staff about how burnt my food was and that I need to go to Burger King and have it my way. Other customers stood nearby looking, this was very humiliating and upsetting, very unprofessional, next, I just got my money back and went to a different restaurant (Chick Fil A) where I was appreciated and served good food with nice quality.
