At our Hazlehurst, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Always clean, friendly, and food is fresh, hot, and delicious. Order is always right. Every time we drive through Hazlehurst, I love stopping and eating at this Captain D’s. We have one in Douglas, but I am tempted to drive the 30 miles to eat here instead.

I’m a big fan of Captain D’S. But this time I am very disappointed. While most of my food was ok, the fried shrimp ( or should I say, shrimp jerky) was the worst I have ever had, anywhere!!! They are already very small. But when you cook them to death, it’s unacceptable. There was no hint of shrimp to them. On the other hand, the lobster bites were absolutely delicious. Good food can happen. All they have to do is pay attention to what they are doing.
