At our Athens, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Shorted 1 star because the location wasn’t open at 11a like the website and sign stated. But once we got inside the service and food made up for it! The young lady working the front counter was AMAZING and was very informative! Hate I didn’t catch her name, she needs praise! It took a little while to get our food but it was hot and fresh! I definitely don’t mind the wait if the quality is up to par! I’ll definitely stop at this location again! Everything was great… Thanks Captain D’s staff❤️

Hell no l do not recommend the Prince Avenue Captain D’s. And here is the reason why ! Me and my husband went to the Prince Avenue Captain D’s on Friday January 16th of 2026. we was going to go through drive-thru and order our food we sat there for 6 minutes and no one ever came to the speaker so we could place our order. so then we decided we just go in and place our order. the young lady took her order. it took 15 minutes to get the food . which was placed at 12:18. the first mistake I made was I didn’t check it before we left to make sure it was correct that’s my fault. however when we got home and check the order it was completely wrong. so I automatically picked up the phone and tried to call the Captain D’s on Prince Avenue I called three times back to back and finally a young lady answered the call on the fourth time. I stated with the issue was. I asked for the manager on duty. she informed me that he was in the freezer and ask her if I would hold on. I told her sure. when she returned to the phone she then informed me that he had actually left to go to another store. so she asked me for my name and my phone number and asked if I would repeat the order that we have placed when we came inside. I politely gave her all that information. she then informed me that she would have the manager to return my phone call regarding the order that was messed up. this was at 1:20 p.m. . however I never received not one phone call from the on-duty manager whose name is Leo and as of today January 17th on Saturday I still not have received a phone call from the manager Leo Patman concerning the order that they messed up. however this is not the first time that I’ve had an issue with this location. tried calling around to see if I could get a hold of the district manager and finally the captain d isn’t Atlanta highway said that they would fix the issue with the food we have placed on Prince Avenue. which we appreciate them doing that when it wasn’t their problem. this store seems to have a problem with customer service or their lack of. after promising that it was fixed thermostat they never do they always give you the runaround they never want to answer the phone or there’s always excuse why the manager can’t come to the phone. I think the store needs retraining the whole store on customer service. but this is in fact the last time I will ever go to the Captain D’s on Prince Avenue . and I have shared both experiences with family and friends that will never go back to this location again as well. I hope in the future that this store can get their act together and give the people that come in the true customer service that they deserve. Sincerely, Tanya

Located I n an area full of burger businesses, this prime location has the potential to be a game changer. Dated interior and equipment. With a few attention to details interiorly, exteriorly along with a power washing, this place could potentially and easily have more orders daily.

Possibly the worst fries and hushpuppies I ever had (like they were fried from frozen but still too mushy inside). But the fish sandwich was fine. And they have a chill vibe, good music, and cheap prices so I ain’t complaining.

Ordered 2 Cajun meals without shrimp. Needed to be 2pc fish Cajun meals. After receiving the meals , I called the store to get the orders done over . The person on the phone keep repeating me over and over again. At this point I wasn’t going back to the store.

Drive through experience only. Service was quick. Order was correct. Staff was efficient and friendly. Speaker for order could use replacement. It was difficult to hear and obviously old. Ordered a 15 piece shrimp dinner and a small coke. Total was a lot over 14.00. For one person in my opinion expensive. Everything tasted okay but the macaroni and cheese leaves something to be desired.

I have Epilepsy I should start off saying. I went through the drive-through last night 01/26/2025 at 8:41 pm. I ordered 1 super sampler with double okra as the sides 1 super sampler with Mac and cheese and okra as the sides. 1 order of funnel cake sticks and 5 butterfly shrimp. I expected to receive what I ordered. I had a seizure when I left Captin D establishment. I took my meds when I got home and was so drained, and out of it, I went to sleep. When I woke up today, I called and talked to a manager. She didn’t give a name. I called back and spoke to Christy, the GM. I even apologized, and my phone dropped the call.

I explained to Christy this time that the sampler that had double okra didn’t have the two pieces of fish. it did have the chicken and shrimp. I was told that I should have called last night within an hour. I explained the situation and my seizures, and I was told it didn’t matter that there was nothing she could do about it. Mind you, I have the food, the receipts, and everything. I wanted the one sampler replaced, and she told me no. So if you have any type of seizures or anything that makes you drained and not able to function, do not go to the capton D they have no problem telling you it does not matter or that they do not care about their customers

OMG Please get them some HELP bad service, BAD food quality TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE would have asked for a refund but was afraid to because of. the environment , not a clean environment, dining room or bathrooms ,the wait for fast food is terrible they really need to improve in every way, not the Captin d,s I’ve been a patron of fo well over 30 years what happened?
