At our Buford, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Incompetent workers. I ordered a two piece fish, an extra piece of fish, and a 10 piece butterfly fish appetizer. They didn’t give me my piece of fish and they only gave me five butterfly shrimp when the order was for 10.

I went in this evening for a large to-go order and had a bit of a wait, which was fine. While I was waiting, I was extremely impressed with the young ladies’ treatment of the elderly guests. They were patient, kind, and accommodating to all of their needs. Heartwarming to see!

Excellent customer during the day shift, but not so much at night. So, my rating is based on my daytime experience. When I came during the day for a late lunch, the service was excellent. The food was hot and fresh, perfect service all the way around. I came last night for dinner and I was sitting in line for 15 minutes and it was just 2 cars on line (mine and 1 other), so I left and ended up going to a nearby Bojangles. I suggest you come to this location for lunch, but not dinner.

Update: they are finally open for dine in again and we couldn’t be happier. Same amazing service from the staff and the resto is super clean. Thank you guys. Definitely in our rotation.
We miss this place. I am only giving 4 stars since we can not dine in until now. I really would want to go back and dine inside while the food is still hot and fresh out of the oven or microwave. Whatever it was, it was def good.

The food was cooked to order and hot, the fried fish was crispy and flaky. The fries were hot. The service was friendly and fast. Yum!

JAYVIN did a great job providing us with information about the meals and giving us FIVE star service. He greeted us when we arrived and closed out the visit with a warm goodbye. I informed JAYVIN there was a mess by the drink and condiments area and he immediately cleaned the area. ELIJAH also gave us a nice greeting as we left the establishment. The food was cooked well and it was a good portion for the amount spent. THANK you for the great experience!

This location has gotten a lot better under new management. Food is always fresh, employees are attentive and helpful, and this may be a minor thing but they have a dedicated fountain for water which is really nice instead of getting it mixed in with the lemonade or some other fruit drink that makes it taste terrible. I absolutely recommend people try this place again when they get the chance.
