At our College Park, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Outstanding Leadership – Will Keep Coming Back Because of the GM
After a frustrating experience at Captain D’s on Main Street on September 30th, I had the pleasure of speaking with the GM, Ms. Christina, and I have to say, she completely changed my view of this location. She was exceptional—professional, empathetic, and genuinely committed to making things right. She listened to my concerns, took full responsibility for what happened, and assured me that steps would be taken to improve the service. Her dedication to maintaining the highest standards for both the restaurant and the community is clear, and it’s the kind of leadership that’s rare to find. Because of Ms. Christina, I will absolutely continue returning to this location, confident that future visits will be much better. College Park needs more leaders like her!
Terrible Customer Service Experience
I just visited the Captain D’s on Main Street on September 30th, and the customer service was absolutely unacceptable. I pulled into the drive-thru around 7:30 PM and was the only car in line. After a rude “hold on a moment” from the person on the intercom, I sat waiting for nearly 30 minutes — yes, 30 minutes — before anyone responded again.
When I finally started placing my order, the employee apparently got frustrated and just stopped responding. I pulled up to the window only to be told she “put her headset down.” Completely unprofessional.
There are plenty of people who would be happy to have that job. If she doesn’t want to work or treat customers with basic respect, she shouldn’t be there. There was absolutely no reason for the attitude or the delay.
I ended up leaving and taking my business to Dairy Queen. I won’t be returning to this location.
Make sure you don’t have to “pee” before ordering food here.
This has literally NEVER happened to me in my 45 years of living.
I’ve been to this Captain D’s before, and it used to be hit or miss — sometimes decent, sometimes not. But this last visit was the absolute worst. The fish didn’t taste fully cooked, and shortly after eating, I started feeling sick. I’m pretty sure the food made me sick because I was feeling completely fine before I ate here. Not long after, I had nausea, vomiting, and severe diarrhea. I don’t know what’s going on with their quality control, but this experience was unacceptable. I won’t be coming back until they get their food safety together.
Fish Soggy Fries and Hush Puppies not good
I want my money back 🙁 I went home thinking I would have a good dinner but nope
Please train your staff to cook the food appropriately. Nothing was fresh and it was doooo nasty
Check your food before you leave because they Tie the bad tight when handing it to you .
But I will say… the night that I went… the fish was dry… there was a serious lack of batter bits… and sauces were forgotten…
Other than that… it fell into the same areas of service and wait times you have come to expect from the D’s…
But sometimes you just crave the D’s… even if you know you’ll regret it afterwards…
