At our Covington, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Now this Captain D’s DIDN’T have enough workers today (9/10/2023). The young guy working the register at the front counter AND drive-thru was kind and doing an EXCELLENT job handling BOTH. Then the manager came to run the front register; she was telling him the things he was/had done wrong. She should have thanked him for the GOOD he was doing. I think he should get a bonus for today’s work.
The taste of the food was okay; the Mac & Cheese was soupy. With not enough workers it took 25 minutes for me to get our To-Go food.
The young lady that took my order at the front register was not the average young worker. She was upbeat, had a great attitude, kind, polite, and I could tell she was smiling (even behind the mandatory mask). The food was good, and hot. I ordered 2 dinners, we had the Southern style whitefish, broccoli, and Mac & cheese; however, the portion size of the sides were small. Went back again to Captain D’s today. The portion size of the sides are still small; I’m gonna need a snack tonight.

Update- oysters and crab cake with fish pretty good. Oysters cooked a little too long.
The fries could have been better. The service and manager at 12:30pm 4-15-25 was A1!
The seafood Deluxe was on point and fresh! The drive thru attendant was a sweet heart. A1 condiments and large portions!

Slow, nasty attitude and rude. After waiting for a long time I get up to the window the cashier tells me she made my meal a combo even though I didn’t request it. She assumed I wanted a drink when I clarified if the meal came with a drink. She said, “no” l said “ Perfect” did she think I was joking. Ask what a person wants don’t assume. She was nasty so I pulled off and spent my money elsewhere.

Stopped in for lunch and ordered the seafood platter. Had to wait 10 minutes for food. The fish was cold , the stuffed crab was warm. The shrimp was hot but burnt to a crisp. I would not have served that to myself as a cook let alone a customer. I don’t think I will be going back here for awhile. but the young lady at the register was really nice when I went in.

I always get the grilled fish and grilled shrimp skewers,the fish and sides are great but the shrimp is overcooked almost every time,but the service you receive makes up for it,I have never complained about the shrimp and I’m sure if I did they would fix it,..great bunch of people .

Menu at drive thru needs lighting and better speakers. Not a long wait. Food was not good. I see why no one was at location and lined up down hwy 278 for Long John Silvers. I will say the ladies that helped me in the drive thru were kind 3-31-21 around 9 pm. Thank you all for working during pandemic. But corp needs to get better quality food. Shrimp very skimpy. And order of clams very small (pic shown is full order). I want my $26.00 back.

Waited for over 30 minutes for my order and when I received it was barely lukewarm shells in my okra fish looks burnt portions were small front cashier left without pushing out all of the orders before just leaving letting four customers just waiting for food.

They can’t get an simple order right. I asked for a 3 piece 3 dinner and they gave me chicken instead. I found out was I got home. Like my receipt says fish. They’re Not paying attention to what they are doing!

Overall the food was good. My only complaint is that I ordered a giant fish sandwich to go. Once I got home and opened my sandwich the lettuce was brown and wilted. You would think the employee that made that sandwich would have cared enough to placed fresh lettuce on my sandwich or advise that you didn’t have any.
