At our Charleston, SC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Poor leadership…did not get all my food , came back to restaurant and manager was rude, argumentative even after she check the food and see 2 items were missing. The manager on duty around5:45-6:00pm need customer service training. This is first time I ever had a bad experience at captain D. My food is always hot…thanks manager I will keep my money

Waited in drive thru line for more than 20 minutes. When I got my food which was fries and fish. They both was cold. Need to serve hot fish and other items. Need be alittle faster service… also see people sleeping in there parking lot… most of all serve hotter food

I am sitting in line now. And paid to go around and bless people and I chose to grab some quick food here. One …. NOT quick and TWO…… the little gal that took my order was rude and did not give me all my food….. I was going to bless the staff with $1000 to split as a tip. They obviously could not even care for someone spending money towards their paychecks. So I will bless someone else. I even tried to give them 50 bucks but the girl was too short with me to even care. Do not go here

Came in today at drive through and ordered a two piece dinner and okra. Came to the drive through and paid. Me and the guy behind me literally sat there for almost 25 minutes wait in on that order. The girl finally gives me the bag, I pull over to check it, wrong order and no okra.
Bring the order back inside, and waited almost another 25 minutes to make a new correct order while some other customers got their orders. And it wasn’t like they were short staffed, they had the manager and two cooks in the back.
I don’t get what is going on with this particular store, they used to be fast and efficient. Now they got a manager that just doesn’t seem to care and two guys in the back who are in no rush, and can’t be bothered to read a ticket……..the worst.

I’ve been waiting OVER 20 minutes for lobster rolls. No fries. No cooking needed, right? No one ahead of me. Cashier said they “just opened so it’ gonna take a minute.” They opened 15 minutes before I got there. I think she is just hoping that I’m going to leave, but I already paid so I’m not.

Don’t be fool by the $5.99 fish & fries meal.
Two very skinny ones that looked like chicken strips. I was better off getting the battered fish meal for better and bigger fish with the crunchy. Food looked thrown in the box. Asked for tartar sauce but got cocktail sauce. Small fries for $3.49 were just crazy.
I didn’t even enjoyed nor finish that weak fish meal.

I patronize CaptD’s on Rivers Ave frequently but my experience today(7/23/25) was beyond horrible! It began at the speaker, no one took my order. The truck in front of me got personalized service because the gentleman on the window came out to take his order mind you he saw me behind the truck. The truck pulls up and I get to the speaker, crickets for10 minutes! I pull around and the guy at the window acts shocked to see me. He proceeds to take my order by saying he didn’t hear a beep. After he received payment I told him what condiments I wanted, he came back after 15 minutes and said “I don’t have any tartar sauce, I told him that. I didn’t want any. He then asked what would I use to dip my fish in
and I told him. This is 15 minutes in. A lady comes to the window and practically throws my food at me! I told her at this point I was sitting at the window for 25 minutes and she made the comment “I wasn’t up here” I requested a manager again with no response from her. I then told her I asked for a cup of water and the guy appeared and gave me some water. Of course I didn’t drink it! Really! What’s going on at Captain’s D’s on Rivers Ave??? This service is unacceptable for ANY customer!
