At our Laurinburg, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

This is for the Laurinburg NC location I just purchased two giant fish sandwich meals and you tried to cut corners by splitting one piece of fish and placing it on the sandwich instead of two piece of fish. People check your food before you leave this restaurant. This is what you’re supposed to get in the first picture and this is what I got in the second and third picture . So this is calling deceiving the paying customer. Horrible Restaurant

I’m not sure I’ve ever eaten at a Captain Ds before today, but it was everything you might expect from a fast food seafood place. The food was good. I had fried shrimp, fish, and fries. The shrimp was good. The fish was OK. The slaw was good and went well with the rest of it. The bathrooms and the eating areas were clean.

Good seafood selections at good prices. You can actually just drive through! Senior Wednesday specials at great prices. Parking wheelchair accessible. No table service, order at register and seat yourself. One stall ladies room. Very clean all over. Staff helped us with our menu selections and got them out quickly. Great lunch!

FIRST OF ALL I AM LONG TIME PRESIDENT OF THIS CITY LAURINBURG, NC.I WAS A LOYAL CUSTOMER OF THIS RESTAURANT UNTIL TODAY…..I PLACED MY USUAL ORDER THAT I SHARE WITH HUSBAND ALWAYS: MEDIUM PLATTER WITH 2 CRAB CAKES, BABY FLOUNDER(WHITE SIDE) WITH 2 SIDES. TODAY I RECEIVED 1 CRAB CAKE AND ONE TINY BABY FLOUNDER. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING. WHEN I CALLED TO ENQUIRE ABOUT MY ORDER I WAS TOLD THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME ORDERING FROM THEM. MY NUMBER SHOWED UP ONCE FOR TODAY…..AT THIS POINT I GAVE UP BECAUSE I WAS TRULY DEALING WITH A LIAR & THERE’S NO POINT. I ADVISED THEM THIS WAS MY LAST ORDER AND THEY LOST A TRULY LOYAL CUSTOMER. My Experience was Horrible!!!! Customer Service was Horrible!!!! Food was Luke Warm and very Greasy because it was just sitting probably under a warmer!!!! The Young lady put her Hands without a glove on my food!!!! This is the Laurinburg Location!!! Back in the day this used to be the Place to get Fresh Hot food and Great Customer Service and even the Manager was sitting down on her Phone having a Conversation and being loud with her conversation!!!! Guys the Rockingham location got you guys whipped!!!! I believe that the Laurinburg location has lost it’s flame or maybe I caught them in a bad day!!! Anyway. You guys got to get yourselves together!!! You never know who will dine in at your restaurant!!! PS. It was a Ghost town in side!!!!

UPDATE: Went Here at 4:25 PM on 06/05/2025. They gave me expired food, or food from the garbage can. That could’ve killed me. Never give someone old fish. Give me something FRESH. If it’s not fresh, say, “we’re out of fish sir.” Don’t give me something that’s no good. Throw it away. Here’s a nice one star rating. Do better Captain D’s.

Their country style fish is delicious! Yum yum! And they even gave me sauce! I didn’t have to ask for it! They have common sense here. 5 stars from me

I will be the first person to say Captain D’s usually doesn’t impress me. Perhaps, I have judged them all unfairly against my experience at one. That being said, this one in Laurenburg, NC was amazing! We ordered our food and drinks, I went to wash my hands and when I got back to the table our food was ready. Less than 3-4 minutes from order to table. This has not been my experience previously at other locations. Our food was hot and delicious the staff was friendly and prompt. I’m glad we are moving to the area and I will get to come here more often! Thank you for changing my mind!

The fish is fresh and hot. Delicious. Had fried okra as side which was a nice change. Great customer service. We enjoy senior day there quite often.
