At our Salisbury, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I would rather cook my own fish than get food from raggedy employee’s. I came here tonight despite the extensive wait for the majority of times I come as a paying customer. Well tonight was the last straw. I pulled up to the intercom it took forever for a response so I spoke. I was greeted with. GIMME A MINUTE. We already gave you 30 minutes waiting in the drive thru line. This is a lazy establishment with lazy employee’s. Do not eat here. I won’t they lost my business
Update: The very next day the owner responds with telling me to go to a website to resolve their bad employee and customer service issue. I work in customer service and this place obviously doesn’t care about good customer service. That’s fine I’ll spend money elsewhere. And if you don’t care about treating your customers good. Then I would advise no one eat at this establishment. If the customer service is this bad who knows what the employees are doing in that kitchen while handling food.

Typical experience at a Captain D’s. Food was as expected. Not great, but not terrible. Place was clean. The lady who took my order was great and cheerful despite being the only one who seemed to know what was going on. The kid who served me was clueless and couldn’t have cared less. Food came out in a timely manner and was warm when served.

By far worse restaurant service and fish around. The food tasted like it was all cooked in burnt old oil, ordered food b4 I left couldn’t go inside to pick it up drive thru with only one person took 40 min and another 30 for mine even tho it was already done person at window took my payment walked away and put earbuds in and just let my food sit longer finally get get home only 5min away bag got sweat from steam and everything cold and nasty and left a thick film in my mouth. Never again.

Don’t get in a hurry if you drive thru on the lunch hour. Understaffed due to woke staffing spending their time smoking and leaving the workload on one poor gal who couldn’t take a 1 minute break if she wanted to do so. Food is fine. Waiting 20 minutes in drive-thru line to get your order taken isn’t good.

Very short staffed that day, inside dining was closed due to staffing issues. All orders were through drive thru window, and it was some wait time involved. Even with all of that, I’m still rating 5 stars…food was hot and freshly cooked, the woman working drive thru was extremely apologetic and doing her absolute best to get everything moving as fast as possible.

Got the 3 piece and 2 sides for $10ish. It was at the counter before my drink was filled. Fish was hot and crispy, fries were great and the slaw was just how I like it.
Service was fast and friendly. Only knock is some dated chairs where the vinyl is ripping and the bathroom had a bad pee smell.

Never had bad food here. The food is always cooked to order it seems. Fries are the same way. The staff is always very helpful and super nice. The female manager always takes the time to say hello and welcome to Capt D’s. That’s why I go there often. Fish and chips is like 6.00 and some change. Not the large drink is 2.99 a bit high, but I always bring a soda or water with me.
If you like fish, grilled shrimp and fries give them a try, I think you will return as well. The restaurant is nicely located and plenty of parking.
I’m looking forward to more fish soon. Great prices and great value.

Ordered two four piece fish meals. Got home to find one meal had no fish just the crumbles that go on the fish. What a joke.
