At our Greenville, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

When I ordered our food in the dining area, the cashier was polite and helpful. But when I went to pay, the card reader did not recognize my Gpay. The cashier said that; they did not accept Gpay.” I asked why it was listed on the card machine… She then asked me “if I had an iPhone.” I replied that I did not. Then she stated that; “I could use Cashapp…” I thought to myself; Nah. I asked if she could give a minute and I would go to my car and get my card. She stated “sure”. I came back and used my credit card to pay. I then watched as our food was placed in “to-go” containers and then placed in a microwave. I didn’t recall if our food came from their kitchen. I did not see anyone back there through the opening behind the register… I have gone to this location several times in the past and each time it has gotten worse. I will not be patronizing with this location ever again. I would not suggest anyone going there until or if they clean and fix any kitchen issues they may have. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE!!!

I drove over an hour because there’s no. Captain D’s where I live. I did not regret the drive, they didn’t disappoint at all. The lady in the front was patient, nice, looked very nicely and she was very respectful, as well the cook in the back. Clean bathroom and dining area. I will be going back and I hope they don’t disappoint ever

We love Captain D’s usually. The health inspection rating was a C. The place was dirty. Workers sitting around. The cashier didn’t want to bother with us. The food tasted good.

April 1, 2025 the first thing I asked was no bread or hush puppies because I am allergic to the onions, got them anyway. The fries were dry, cold and hard as wooden branches. Then the 5 butterfly shrimp for $1.99 was hard also. Very small and the breading felt as if I were chewing on sand! Horrible! When told the only reply was, “OK I’ll tell the manager!”

Not horrible but not that great either. The wait was crazy and it was only one car ahead of me. She waited I know 20 minutes just to order. I waited cause I wanted to try something different I had never been. For my first time it was not too good. And the portions are not great for the price lady at drive thru was nice.

Horrible experience at Captain D’s today. The fries were cold and rubbery, and the fish was soggy. I ordered a 4-piece fish meal but only received about 3½ pieces. The coleslaw portion was barely a tablespoon. I really don’t know why I keep giving them another chance. Very disappointing.

Tried the Seafood Trio for lunch today, (Two fish Tenders, One Batter Dipped Fish Filet, Three Butterfly Shrimp and two sides) the food was served hot, fresh, and delicious. There was a little wait, but the wait was well worth it. The new Spicy Fish is very tasty, not overly hot, but it has a nice flavor and crispy breading! The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the restaurant was clean. This was a very filling and budget friendly meal, only $6.99 plus tax.. Will return here again in the future.

Oh I’m in love with fish, shrimp and fries combo! With salad to go with it, totally amazing. I just hope they didn’t forget my dressing for the salad. I still ate it regardless. I didn’t realize the dressing was missing until I was ready to eat the salad, almost done with my fish and shrimp. Got nice crew who served us too.
