At our Greensboro, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

the servers were very nice but my fish was genuinely raw, and it was 3 trays of raw fish. you know how fish is supposed to flake and come apart easily when it’s cooked, well mine is pink and it won’t do that. i normally dont complain but this is concerning for food safety.

The food here has never changed! It still tastes the same as it did back in the 80s and 90s when I was a kid growing up eating here with my parents. Super delicious and well priced seafood you could never beat. I brought my daughter here with me today to try Captain Ds for the first time, and she fell in love with it on her first few bites. Everything was perfectly cooked and just fell apart while ur eating it with that delicious taste exploding in ur mouth like a favor bomb! Food was quick to come out and was piping fresh hot. Fries were a bit cold but still tasted really good alomst like Wendy’s fries combined with Burger King fries. The atmosphere needs to be touched up and remodeled, same for the building itself, but you can’t complain about it that much when your focus is on the food mainly. Kind of sad they took away the sweet sauce they used to have through back in the day. Workers are super patient here and have humor. Max especially was super sweet and doing his job well by cleaning the floors, serving food, & taking orders. I’m glad this isn’t near where I live anymore because I’d be in here every single week eating this delicious but unhealthy seafood! Good job, Captain Ds. You made me walk out of here today with a smile on my face and a stomach full of my childhood.

Ordered through Door Dash ( would 100% NEVER recommend..EVER) waited for almost an 1 hour and a half, and spent $24….but will be refunded $5.12 through door dash! Yay!. I am disgusted and disappointed with the preparation of the food. Oh I received my meal alright…seems the staff were a bit hungry and decided to take a good portion of my meal. I ordered the (Garlic & Herb Shrimp and Fish)I don’t expect my meal to perfectly mirror the menu, but I do expect it to be somewhat edible. And what I received was horrific and not at all edible, hush puppies appeared slightly wet and bitten into, garlic herb shrimp was dry gray and rubbery, the fries were dry and very few, macaroni was in the smallest container and was watery, and the broccoli sat in the styrofoam tray floating in a pool of water. Don’t even get me started on the sauces I ordered to go along with my meal ( tartar sauce, and vinegar) that I didn’t at all receive along with the absence of napkins. So In the end I have not only been overcharged, but left with a very upset sibling. I will not ever order or set foot in this place again.

I had seen online where the Captain D’s fish sandwich was pretty good and had two large pieces of fish on it. I also ordered the smallest sampler plate not realizing how much food I had coming to me. The fish sandwich was absolutely huge. The sampler had fish chicken and shrimp and also broccoli for a side dish. All in all I think it was a good value for my money but I was extremely full LOL. It had been a long time since I went to Captain D’s because I do not like to do drive-thrus I like to go inside and sit down and eat. I’m glad they finally opened the dining room back up and I was able to go inside and enjoy all of that food. I will be more prudent next time.

I noticed this is the only captain ds in Greensboro. I drove to this location in hopes that the food would be good. To my surprise; it was. The staff was nice. My food came up very fast and was hot and fresh. She provided condiments and brought my food to the table after i told her I would get it. She insisted. This was a nice expierence with good food.

Great seafood experience. The staff was nice and friendly. The food was hot and fresh. The place wasn’t busy. The lobby and the bathroom was clean. You get your money worth plus more. I will definitely be going back when I’m on that side of town. I also liked they way the staff treated the new person on the register. She did a great job and they showed her a lot of support.

The only thing good about this restaurant is the staff was really nice, the cook messed up my husband’s order and the cashier had to get it corrected then the food tasted some what ok but not long after we left the restaurant my husband and I both started to not feel well and well needless to say our stomach’s was messed up bad so we definitely will not be going back.

I’m glad this Captain D’s is still around. The times I’ve been there, the fish is always hot and fresh. I tried the lobster rolls with fries and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the lobster rolls were. They were delicious! The fries were hot too. I’m ready to go back soon.

Wow i had a bad experience here but I thought today to try it again and this is the plate that I bought and it is so delicious it’s not greasy the plate ,and baked potato is just right , I just love the tartar sauce. Good food but not friendly at all! I asked a question about the food and he ignored my question and went straight to ask if that was all I needed and didn’t answer my question. Then the window person wasn’t much better, came across very rude or poor attitude. If you don’t like your job, then quit!
