At our Hurricane, WV location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Was very hospitable as soon as we walked in with a party of 7! It was 9pm and they closed at 10pm. 4th of July as well. Our food didn’t take long at all. Place is very clean. Close to interstate ramps & gasoline. Safe & clean. Our cashier was super accommodating & patient.

Walked in not having high expectations. My last visit to the Captain was when restaurants in Dunbar was open. Employees were very polite and nice. Service was great and my dinner was wonderful. I honestly didn’t know Captain Ds could be this Amazing!!! Will definitely be back soon!

Asked for fresh fish and it took a long time. May call in advance and order next time. Their fish is just the best, It was hot and crispy, coleslaw is excellent and if fries are fresh, they are great also. Got a 10 piece meal and shared it with my dogs. They love captain D’s fish also!

Great experience, food was great dining area was clean and the drink machine area and condiments were clean and well stocked. Fish was golden as were the French fries hush puppies were delightful coleslaw was delicious stuffed crabs were so good, okra was sweet. Staff all greeted us upon entry and said thank you as we left all in all it was a very good experience oh and the place was warm too that matters this time of year!!! ☃️ ❄️ Dec 24th 2023 we had just left a very bad experience at barnyard barbecue and this meal and experience made up for it!! Thank you!!!

For as long as I can remember, this Captain D’s has been un-godly slow BUT always had good food. TODAY HOWEVER was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant in general. The wait as usual was over 30 minutes, and the food was DISGUSTING. The fish tasted like it was soaked in water. The chicken was nothing but gristle We didn’t receive half of our shrimp, and the sweet tea wasn’t sweet and was just in general disgusting. This is by far the worst food I have ever been served, and will not be returning for a long time.
