We stopped on Thanksgiving. Service was OK. I asked for the garlic butter on side and they put it in boil instead. No biggue it was still good food. I really liked the crawfish and shrimp basket. The cocktail sauce was perfect. Will be back.

Go on a weekday and the fast comes quick. I really want to give 3 stars because the flavor really lacked but I was really impressed by how well cooked the shrimp and mussels were. I mean they are cooked to perfection, and that’s because the shell doesn’t stick to the mean, the meat is moist and firm and doesn’t mash and mush around in your mouth. They cook that shrimp better than boiling crab or kicking crab, but the flavor really lacked and really bland compared to the other places. And another thing that speaks to how well they cook their food is the corn, it still has volume and each pulp still pop and not stay flat. But the service and speed was good so they deserve it.

My family and I always come here to eat. I love trying new things, I’ve been to several crab restaurants but none of them are like Captain crab. The service is great everyone is welcoming and sweet! It doesn’t take long to be seated or attended definitely recommend stopping by to try it!!

My family and I went for the first time yesterday. We ordered the Mother’s Day special, fried calamari, fried pickles, hush puppies and cheese sticks. The fried food were all delicious. The breading was tasty. Even my picky 7 year old liked the food. The Mother’s day special included lbs of crab, corn, potatoes and we chose shrimp and sausage. We chose the garlic butter sauce. There were 4 adults eating and it was a lot of food for us. My daughter got the kids meal of chicken tenders and fries and that was yummy as well. Everything was delicious! Service was great too. They were quick, friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back!

We had high expectations about this place but it was the opposite! Spent 268$ to only receive 2 king crab legs 2 clusters of snow crab legs 1lb 1/2 of small shrimps. Sauce was not even flavored ,over all the food was like a 3 out of 10 will never come back to this place again killed my whole mood when we tried to feed the family with a 268$ bag and wasn’t even WORTH IT DO NOT SPEND MONEY HERE. CRAB IT WHILE ITS HOT IN VISALIA WAY BETTER!

Venturing into Captain Crab nestled in Clovis, California, I was greeted with a blend of anticipation and curiosity. From the moment I found parking with ease on the Shaw side of the mall, a sense of excitement began to build, even as I noted the parking lot’s tendency to fill up quickly after 4 pm. This detail, though minor, hinted at the restaurant’s popularity among locals and visitors alike. Inside, the promise of a Happy Hour from Monday to Friday and a special Valentine’s Day feast for $118 featuring a lavish pound of crab or lobster among other delectable dishes, painted a picture of a place not just serving meals but creating experiences. My culinary journey kicked off on a high note with the perfectly crispy Cajun fries, a testament to the kitchen’s prowess. Opting for individual items like the succulent headless shrimp and flavorful sausages over larger platters, I found myself reveling in the rich tapestry of tastes, each bite a celebration of the sea’s bounty.
However, as the meal progressed, the currents seemed to shift slightly. The ambiance, still adorned with Christmas decorations well into February, added a quirky charm but also suggested a lapse in attention to detail. More significantly, the experience was marked by a sea of unattended moments, from the noticeable absence of a bartender to a service that felt more adrift than anchored, making the act of ordering drinks feel less like an invitation and more like an intrusion. These moments of disconnect, contrasted starkly with the vibrancy of the dishes laid before me, each a flavorful voyage in itself. Despite the culinary delights that Captain Crab offered, it was clear that the journey could have been elevated by waves of warmer hospitality and more attentive service. Yet, even amidst these ripples of imperfection, the allure of the food alone was a beacon strong enough to draw me back to its shores, promising that even the roughest seas could harbor treasures worth returning for.

Visited Captain Crab on Thursday evening with the lady and her family. It wasn’t too busy, so we were seated quickly. We had the family combo of snow crabs, shrimps, and green mussels. The “captain special” sauce, a combination of all the sauces, is a must. The crabs weren’t as full as they could be, but that’s pretty standard for this time of the year. Good first-time experience. Give it a shot.

Fun place to eat! Food was very good! Got hush puppies which were some of the best! They were crispy and have a good crunch to them. The fried pickles and mushrooms were great too! The main star of the show was the shrimp! Very fresh and fun to pick at!! The lunch specials are great here too!! A very enjoyable experience and will definitely be back!

AVOID THIS PLACE. If you care about your health, do not eat here.
They served me raw shrimp, and I didn’t realize it until I bit into one. I immediately spat it out and told the waiter. He told me to put the chewed-up shrimp back into the bag so they could show the chef and “remake” the dish.
What they actually did was microwave the same food and try to pass it off as a new order. I knew because I found the exact same chewed-up shrimp I had spit out — still in the bag. It was beyond disgusting, not just because of the complete lack of sanitation, but because of how sneaky and dishonest the restaurant was in trying to cover it up.
This is unacceptable on every level.
Avoid this place at all costs!
