Im here now. Waiting on my food. I’ve been to almost every capt Benny in Houston and surrounding area. They never fail to provide excellent service and great food. The bar dude is always chill and cool. The lady’s in the back can cook . I love Capt Bennies.

The food was fresh/piping hot, and delicious! I had the combo shrimp/fish platter (I substituted shrimp rice for the fries). I also ordered a cup of seafood gumbo. It was ok (I’m from Louisiana, so I make gumbo from scratch). The gumbo had a decent flavor, with crab/shrimp in it. However it comes with the rice in it already- not my preference).
The service was quick and friendly. It want at a busy time..on a Monday afternoon a little after 3pm. I plan on returning. The place was clean and comfortable.

We had dinner here with family in the evening and were seated at an outdoor table. Unfortunately, despite the cold weather, there was no heating available, which made the experience uncomfortable. The food did not live up to the hype suggested by other reviews. Many of the fried dishes tasted very bland, and it seemed like the same batter and flavor profile were used across multiple items. Several dishes were also overly salty. Most menu items are priced at $15 or more, which felt overpriced for the overall quality. In addition, I would not recommend the fried catfish. It was mostly batter and bones, with very little actual fish. We chose this restaurant based on Google reviews and were ultimately disappointed with the experience.

My wife shared her cup of seafood gumbo and I was happy ’cause it was some of the best we’ve had. I enjoyed an eight piece shrimp basket with fries, hush puppies and garlic bread. The fried shrimp were battered with cornmeal,usually not my favorite but these were very good, the fries were average. My wife enjoyed and overshared the popcorn shrimp appetizer. Between the two of us we finished everything. The popcorn shrimp batter was not cornmeal. We ate on the outside deck. This location only has bar seating with high stools on the inside. We’ll be back. Jessie is the goat! He was willing to get a ladder just to pull down the tarp since it was raining, what a nice guy! He also chased after our car I’m the rain to tell us we gave him an extra 100 bucks. Give Jessie a raise! The food was also amazing, thanks to the chef.

Been going to the Stafford location for over 20 years. It always hits the spot. Portions have gotten smaller but flavor is always there. Service is great , the gentleman at the bar has been there for years , good to see a familiar face and always helpful

The moment I visited this place, I loved it! We sat down and instantly were attended to. I tried the gumbo soup, it was delicious. My plate consisted of broiled tilapia, rice, garlic bread, & coleslaw. The servings are nicely sized and worth it for the price. I would definitely come here again.
The inside was maintained & clean, along with the restrooms. There wasn’t any issues with my visit!
