“Cold Beer, Big Burgers, Hot Music”! Caprock Café opened in 1997, and is a fun and casual café with friendly service, great Texas atmosphere, and an enclosed patio. The menu features char-broiled burgers, Tex-Mex, and lots of spicy appetizers. Caprock Café at 34th & Indiana is close to Texas Tech and the United Spirit Arena, and is the perfect place to meet after games, concerts, and shows. Caprock Café at 82nd & Slide is located in Rockridge Plaza (where Food King Supermarket is and we are next to China Town Restaurant) in southwest Lubbock, and features plenty of parking.

Caprock Cafe is a must-stop every time I’m in Lubbock!
My son went to Texas Tech, and every single time I came to visit, we made it a point to stop at Caprock. It became our place. ❤️
They truly live up to the claim — the coldest beer in town, great burgers, and always a fun, laid-back atmosphere. Whether it was a quick lunch, a night out, or just hanging out between campus visits, Caprock never disappointed. The staff was always friendly, the food was consistently good, and the vibe just feels like Lubbock.
So many great memories there over the years — it’s one of those places that instantly takes you back. If you’re visiting Tech or just in town, this spot is a classic for a reason.

I paid dang near $65 for 2 chicken fried steaks which one was supposed to be chicken had pork skins and queso and waters. CAPROCK your chicken fried steak is listed top 3 in town, this was terrible. The food was like eating cafeteria food which the steaks were not hand battered. But frozen then fried. Isn’t this supposed to be a restaurant not fast food? Pork skins and queso were top notch that’s about it and the toast.

Caris B. provided excellent attentive service. She made sure our group had everything we needed for a great dining experience. Lance the manager on duty is sincerely committed to customer satisfaction with the food being served. When my burger did not arrive cooked as requested (rare), Lance appeared & assured me he wanted to ensure a burger would be prepared the way I wanted it. What sets Lance above & beyond other restaurant managers is the warmth & sincerity of his interaction. Other places the manager will fake smile at you & say words of regret for the cooking error, however, you can hear their insincerity in their tone of voice. Lance’s smile & tone of voice were real. My replacement burger was excellent.

Had never been here before , decided to stop by after a long morning for a bite. Me and my husband love trying places we have never been walking in the door we had pretty good expectations it would be a great experience. However after being seated I went to the lady’s room just before ordering , my husband ordered our drinks and said the server was quite bubbly! Unfortunately as I returned to the table our service went down hill pretty quickly.. our waitress went from bubbly to gloomy a very quick to rush away before request were complete. We also were not fond of her not being attentive while sitting at the table arm’s length away from us as it seems a bit unprofessional to camp out at a table with guest as you are serving others. Food was okay but probably won’t return due to service provided.

Great burgers and fries. Chips and queso is amazing. Service is fast and friendly. Can be loud in the restaurant. Lots of bog tvs for watching sports . Really good ranch dressing also!

I have been going here when in Lubbock for years. Great food great bar, great ambiance. It’s usually pretty busy, but we’ve never had to wait. It’s a Lubbock staple for sure!

Came in for my birthday with some buddies food was good beer was cold. Price was very good too for the amazing quality given. Our Waitress alyana was nice and attentive to us. Will return shortly and ask for our waitress again.
