Frank, from Brooklyn, NY, and Tina, from New Jersey, brought their love for authentic Italian food to the West End of Henrico County when they opened Capriccio’s Italian Restaurant in 2008. Built on family values, hard work, and a passion for great food, Capriccio’s quickly became a local favorite.
In 2025, Frank and Tina decided it was time to share their New York–style flavors with even more of the Richmond community. On February 5, 2026, they proudly opened their second location, Downtown Capriccio’s Pizza, in the heart of the VCU area on West Cary Street.
Known for their New York–style pizza, fresh ingredients, and welcoming atmosphere, Frank and Tina love serving the community and building lasting relationships with their guests.
Unassuming, easygoing spot for familiar favorites like pizza, pasta & sandwiches.

My very first time ordering from Capriccios Italian Restaurant. The pizza was amazing!! It reminded me of being back home in New York City, where I was born and raised. The crust was so very crunchy which I ADORED and The Pizza itself was nice and thin and had a perfect crunch to it and the sauce was extremely flavorful!!! … My first time trying this pizza and it will not be my last it was outstandingly delicious!!! Good pizza, good service, with a neighborhood feel. It was great to dine in and meet Tina she really cares about how the guest experience the restaurant and she makes sure everyone is treated like family. Capriccios has a wonderful menu with plenty of pasta and pizza options. There dining room is nicely decorated with an Italian flair that favor the quaintness of dining in a small Italian town. Reasonable prices and good portion sizes.

Yes, the price tags are a bit higher than what I’m used to, but the food is really really good! Highly recommend their Fettucine Alfredo and Capricciosa Pizza. They definitely bring the quality. Especially in a convenient, easy-to-park-in area.

I was so disappointed with this pizza. I assumed it would be great based on reviews but it fell so very flat. First, I went inside to place my order and I felt mocked – I asked if they made pizza with vodka sauce and the gentleman making the pizzas practically laughed at me, like I had asked an insanely stupid question. I’ve had lots of vodka pizzas, so I don’t know why I was made to feel like it was some sort of weird ask. I should’ve left then, but I thought it doesn’t matter as long as the food is good. As soon as I looked at it, it looked miserable, but again I told myself maybe it tastes good – it doesn’t have to be pretty. I got it home and popped it into the oven since the cheese was uncooked for my liking but that’s not a big deal. Unfortunately, this pizza was absolutely flavorless. The cheese. The sauce. The crust. It was one of the most underwhelming, most bland pizzas I’ve ever tasted. I tossed half of it away. $20 in the trash.

Family owned Italian place. I got the tortellini with red sauce, onions, and grilled chicken. If you couldn’t tell, they let you customize stuff and our waitress gave great recommendations. I can’t remember her name but she was so sweet!!!
My boyfriend got a personal size cheese pizza and let me tell you. Soooo good. Great cheese pull if you like that Instagram stuff.
Pricing is very very reasonable (especially if you split a pizza amongst people, they have several different sizes) and food is very fresh. I think next time I want to try their tiramisu but honest to God I was so full I couldn’t eat another bite. Highly recommend and definitely will be coming more often.

Great service and good. I ordered the side Greek Salad and the Deluxe Personal Pizza. Pizza crust was nice and crispy, the sauce was delicious. I’ve eaten here many times and never been disappointed. Non-alcoholic beverage options are meh

This restaurant offers pizzas with a truly distinctive flavor compared to other places around. The texture is soft, and the flavors are well-balanced and delicious l. I particularly loved the ‘meat combo’ pizza; if you enjoy meat pizzas, you’ll absolutely love this one. It’s different and even better than what you’re used to. The service was fast, and the atmosphere was decent.

The hubs and I do take out and we’ve also eaten here for lunch. Everything about this experience is fabulous! The service is quick, kind, and helpful. Food prices are more than fair for this amazing food. Gotta say, Capriccios has hired the best pizza makers in Richmond!!

This was my first visit to this location and I was severely underwhelmed. For starters, I ordered two plain slices and a stromboli and it took 30 minutes for my order. To reheat two slices, it should take 5-10 minutes and a stromboli normally 10-15 minutes. Not acceptable! The service was slow and it seemed like not enough servers and too many customers. As for the food, the two slices of pizza were fantastic but the stromboli was a disaster. There was too much dough and not enough ingredients and the stromboli contained the meats and veggies in the middle instead of spreading it out thru the dough. I only ate half the stromboli and threw out the other half.
I would come back for the pizza but wouldn’t order a stromboli. Overall, I will return to Mary Angela’s for my next visit to RVA.

Let me start by saying that I love the food at Capriccios, especially the pizza. I’ve never had any issues with the quality and I believe the price is generally fair for what you get, particularly when you eat in the restaurant or carry out.
With that said, the delivery service leaves MUCH to be desired. I ordered a large pizza with a couple deserts and at checkout the estimated delivery time was about 45 minutes which is fine. It then took about an hour and a half for the pizza to be delivered, and was processed through a third party delivery service about an hour after I initially ordered. By this time the pizza wasn’t cold, but it definitely wasn’t as fresh or hot as I would have liked and I think Capriccio’s would greatly benefit from having an in-house delivery driver.
