Celebrated the most special birthday surprise at Capon’s Chophouse, and it was absolutely unforgettable from start to finish. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and inviting — ideal for a celebration.
Every dish that came to the table was exceptional — beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. You can truly taste the quality in every bite. From appetizers to dessert, it was a flawless dining experience.
And then there was Chris — hands down the BEST server. Attentive, fun, and beyond accommodating. He even spoon-fed me to keep the birthday queen vibes going! His energy made the night feel extra special and personal.
If you’re looking for a place to celebrate something meaningful (or just treat yourself to an incredible meal), Capon’s is it. Five stars isn’t enough. Can’t wait to go back!

This is truly what a five star restaurant looks like. From the decor, to the person who greeted us at the front door, and everyone else in between, absolute first class all the way. The waiters were great, one of the managers came over, as did the general manager. It was my wife’s birthday, and they went out of their way to make her feel like the queen that she is. Could not have asked for more and just look at the pictures! I’m not the best photographer, but the food was really fantastic. Every bite was exceptional, only positive things to say. It’s a splurge, but if you’re celebrating something, I couldn’t think of a better place to do it.

First off I want to say thank you to both the front and back of house team for an amazing lunch and dining experience. The food and ambiance were incredible and the team went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and had a great time.
I recently visited Capon’s to visit some old friends to catch up. Not only did I have a fantastic time, the staff and food exceeded all expectations. Started with the bacon nuggies, tuna crudo, and frito misto. Each drastically different from the other but superb. If you are a bacon lover, be sure to not miss the nuggies, and for the raw seafood lovers, the tuna crudo is bright yet delicate.
Followed up the apps by splitting the burger and prime rib sandwich with my friend, and finished off with the carrot cake and espresso martinis, all delicious. Truly a tasting of many of what Capon’s has to offer.
I can’t wait to go back and try not only the rest of the lunch menu but to try more of the dinner items as well.
Thank you again to the GM, Alan, and the whole team for making this dining experience a very special one.

This is the best steakhouse in NJ. The service is impeccable . The Chef Josh Capon was the head of Bowery Meat Co and that was phenomenal. The food quality is A+ and they have Ghost Hawk beer on tap. Get the shrimp toast, the chophouse burger and a beer you will be the happiest person in the world.

It’s not often I walk away from a highly anticipated meal and it actually exceeds expectations overwhelmingly. Capon’s delivered a 10/10 experience and I’ll definitely be going back!
Top dishes: Hashbrowns & Caviar, Rib-Cap, Disco Fries w Truffles, and the mushrooms.

I kept hearing amazing things about this spot so I had to check it out . We came in right at 5 pm with no reservations and sat at the bar. From the moment we walked in every one was very welcoming. Our bartenders Matt and Krystele were phenomenal. Matt made THE BEST espresso martini. We got a few appetizers and a Cesar salad. If you have been thinking about going but have not made it , you should. The vibe is great , with a cozy upscale spin on a modern stakehouse.

I’ve only been to Capons Chophouse twice so far, but it’s already become my go-to spot in the area. Both visits were absolutely outstanding. The food is consistently top-tier — perfectly cooked steaks, flavorful sides, and dishes that taste like real care went into them.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the service has impressed me both times. The staff is attentive without being overbearing, and they make you feel genuinely welcomed, which isn’t something you find everywhere.
Even after just two visits, Capons has earned a spot at the top of my list. When I want a great meal, great service, and a place I know won’t disappoint, this is where I’m going. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth the experience.

Tried it out for lunch. The service and atmosphere were all great. Chef came over to our table multiple times to welcome us and even help serve our food. Bacon nuggies worth trying for sure. Steak was very flavorful. Everything was excellent and will definitely be going back to try more things!
