Not a boring traditional place definitely is a great hip new modern age food truck! Ordered the three piece trout & fries & it was delicious! The coleslaw and tartar sauce were both homemade and best I ever had in my life! To the other review who said it was fishy.. it was not! Also it’s fish what do you expect it to smell and taste like chicken? I also had the smoke fish dip and it was good and very reasonably priced! I will return & I Highly recommend this food truck! They even had some cool modern freeze dried candies! Thanks!

Delicious fish and chips! It’s a combo of local whitefish and trout. I like the trout best, but my husband liked the whitefish. Fries were excellent. It was very fast and the people were super nice.

We went to Cap’n Ron’s for supper after a recommendation from our kayak tour guide James. I had the captains basket that included 3 pieces each of lake trout and white fish. It included coleslaw and a ton of fries. There were a few picnic tables to eat at and since it was a food truck, we could bring our dog.

My cousin said this was the best fried fish he ever had, so we drive from Ohio to find out. Wow. It was so fresh, got the trout and whitefish with fries. Subtly flavored, not over breaded, excellent texture. I would eat this every day.

My partner and I shared the captains basket which has both trout and whitefish. Both were fantastic, not overly breaded, and tasted great. Fries were perfect as well. Customer service was great and food came out quickly. If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll make sure to come back

To be 100% honest about our experience, we came to get fried whitefish here because of how delicious the white fish at Scalawags in Mackinaw was the day before. Unfortunately it wasn’t what we expected. It was very small pieces of fried white fish (about 2 inches in length) and fried with the skin on. The fries are battered and crunchy, so they are delicious, but we had expected way more for the fish. Sadly not what we hoped for.
