While on family vacation in Williamsburg, VA, we wanted to try a new place for breakfast. We had a party of 6 people. The wait was 30+ minutes. The waiting area was packed, with standing room only, and the restaurant itself was old and rundown. Finally, we were seated in a large section with no other customers. So, why the long wait if so many tables were open. We ordered traditional breakfast food which was very underwhelming. The pancakes were dry, the potatoes were under seasoned, and the meat was very well done. The best thing that recall eating was the scrambled eggs with cheese. Please save your money and avoid this place at all costs!!

Capitol Pancake House received five stars for the excellent customer service, exceptional options and nice atmosphere. We visited for breakfast and the was a large variety of options to choose from on their menu. The food was abundant enough for two people to enjoy for at least three days. The food was served on what appeared to be platters. The restaurant had ample parking space and an abundance of seating options to choose from at the time that we visited. The restaurant was also decorated nicely. Although the restaurant is on the east coast the people provided a beautiful display of southern hospitality!

Food was amazingly delicious ordered the Philly cheese omelette with grits and roasted seasoned potatoes. Added a pina colada mimosa. Starting digging in before the picture (reason why some of the omelette is missing ). First time there. Will definitely be back.

We were visiting from Florida and had to stop by because the place had its own road sign. Everything was delicious. I tried the cornbread pancakes (which I had never heard of), and loved them. I was thrown by the veggie beef soup because it had noodles, but it was good as well! Our server was very friendly and gave great suggestions. Seems like it has an interesting past. We are definitely going back the next time we are nearby.

I came here for my birthday breakfast since I saw so many great reviews about this place. As soon as I walked in I got a nice greeting from the hostess and was seated immediately. The young lady that was my server was friendly and attentive.

In spite of the other great menu items, I opted for what they are known for….pancakes! I got the pecan pancakes and they were huge! I am surprised that I nearly finished a full stack of three as they were not only filling, but fluffy and delicious. Coffee here is good too and all for a reasonable price.

The restaurant itself is large and could accommodate all group sizes. They also have a decent amount of parking onsite, which is a major plus.

This is definitely a spot to check out in Williamsburg for a quick bite, but make sure you go hungry .

Food was really good, above average. Service did their best to keep up. The real treat was spending time chatting with the owner, Dean. Hearing his family history was very special to our table. Thank you.

Eggs Benedict was not very good. The English muffin was burnt and ham was sour tasting. Easy egg was perfect. Homefries were dry.

Biscuits and spicy gravy were too salty. Chicken was inedible and dry.

Kids menu hotdog came with burnt marks and it was cut 3-4 slices not all the way through. Not ideal for a picky eaters. Like a regular hotdog without burnt marks would be good.

My family and I left the place still hungry

Service was okay our waitress wasn’t really approachable and didn’t really check on us hence why we couldn’t really express what we needed to have changed in our meal.

60-70$ range for a family of 4.

Will be taking business elsewhere.

Cleanliness was 2/5

Great family friendly breakfast spot. The food was hot and fresh, yummy French fries. The waitress was sweet and the owner was very welcoming to us upon entering. There is a lot of space and the atmosphere is very open. I had my 5 month old and felt like I had plenty of room for her stroller. The bathrooms were also very clean.
