Original post:We have been loyal customers for over 6 months now and very much appreciate having a halal food option open late. However recently things have changed at Capitol Gyros.
The employee frequently says they are out of things when he is too lazy to either cook or clean. He will say they’re out of fries 30 mins before closing, or most recently, said they close at 11:45 now. If that’s is the case they should update their hours to reflect that instead of wasting customers time. The unpredictability of the menu items and operating hours make dining here extremely frustrating.
We love this place and it is a shame to see it go so far downhill because of an employees laziness. When the usual employee works we do not have this issue. It is the new employee that they have that has been causing issues and the business to lose money. The new employee also makes the food poorly, often dripping in grease.
I usually go to Petra but this place taste just as good and half the price.
The place itself does not look all that great but the food is amazing.
Highly recommended ☆☆☆☆☆
Now, for the bad, the cash register asked for a tip for no reason. The cook who brought up the food was rude and didn’t smile for nothing. The western burger was a bit sloppy and didn’t come with the onion rings, and the barbecue sauce wasn’t equally distributed. The French fries were unsalted and soggy, and the loaded chicken fries had what my co-worker believed to be rotten Mexican cheese he couldn’t even finish it. Smelled like feet!
I haven’t tried all their meals so I won’t give them a one star but I can’t give them more than two either.
Halal meat restaurant in case anyone wants to know.
Waited at drive thru and the window is painted over and no one came after about 5 minutes then had to deal with awkward parking and go inside instead. Kid gave blank-faced “sorry”.
Not inspired to visit again.
Place is kinda dumpy and weird. But that’s par for lots of places in West Sac.
Original post:The food is great, but there have been multiple times where I’ve come 1-1.5 hours before closing and half the menu is unavailable (all fried items) because they don’t want to clean the fryer later. Today I showed up at 11:45pm (mind you they close at 12, and I’ve come to order before so many times at this time because it’s the time I get off work. I literally eat here at least 4 times a week because the food is genuinely good!) and he conveniently said they close at 11:40 now no longer at 12. I’m not sure why they don’t want the business, as there were other people behind me in line, so there’s obviously a demand. I honestly feel they got someone new recently who doesn’t want to do any of the closing duties at the actual closing time. It wasn’t until about two weeks ago that this new guy started doing these things. Really sucks because I loved coming here since they’re the only place open late when I get off work, but they’re either closed or not selling most of their menu (how can you not sell fries with burgers and gyros? Or how about the meat fries??)
Portions are generous, and everything is cooked to perfection. The atmosphere adds to the experience, making it a place you want to linger and enjoy every bite.
I can’t wait to come back and try more this is easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time!
