Date/time of visit: Saturday night, ~7:00 PM
Parking: shared in the adjacent lot with other businesses; at 7:00 PM, there’s plenty of parking unless there’s a wedding. Free parking, no valet
Party size: 20; 2 tables with 8 non-adults
Environment/ambience: was not busy when we came by. Probably do not need reservations for small dinner party, less than ~8. We had large party, along with requesting wedding menu (7 course dinner). Think old school Chinese restaurant; fish tank(s) and no TVs
Service: was great actually; they came around often and were really helpful. Better than most other Chinese places.
Food: was really good; we ordered the menu usually reserved for weddings since my parents love that type of Chinese food. We initially tried to replace the the roasted chicken with roasted pork but they didn’t get that so we just had the chicken; we ordered the $508 menu (pic below). You can do BYOB too; no corking fee and they’ll help you open and provide cups, no extra charge
Cost: $1400, with tip
Would I go back (yes/no): 75/25
Only downside is that the restrooms could definitely be cleaner and better maintained.
Overall, a great spot for traditional Chinese dining and celebrations — lively atmosphere, good food, just needs improvement in cleanliness.
Love to go back again.
Aside from most of the staff not speaking English to tell us what we were eating when it was brought out we figured it out and everything was uniquely different in its own way!
I usually take food pics but I didn’t this time! P.S beer was only 5 bucks a bottle!
One of the best things about Capital Seafood is their generous portions at such affordable prices. You truly get amazing value without sacrificing taste. The friendly service adds to the experience, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
The ambiance is inviting and visually appealing, setting the perfect backdrop for a delicious meal. And if you’re in the mood for something different, their fried rice and seafood chow mein are also fantastic options.
If you’re in California and craving authentic dim sum, you have to check out Capital Seafood. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
Not quite Dim Sum, but our group ordered the Roasted Suckling Pig. It was tasty, although I wished the skin would be crispier. They have all the classic Dim Sum here and it was good, but nothing stood out.
Staff were quick and a lot nicer than the other places. Prices were a bit inflated. I would recommend to maybe go earlier since they only serve Dim Sum until 3p.
The food does not disappoint, all of our guests were complimenting us on every course. Did you know that the first course even comes with a grand entrance with dry ice and a parade from the waitstaff? Beyond the food, the waitstaff was great.
There was a slight mix-up (from me) about the presence of a sweetheart table and a table for vendor meals – Capital Seafood was able to accommodate that almost immediately and helped feed us on the most important night of my life.
Thanks!
