We came from FL so we wanted to try a few places. We went for happy hour was about 15 mins early the bartender at the time was RUDE! Her name was Sheem. No conversation not friendly at all. Thank god Jas came and was nice & friendly. She had amazing service. The FOOD 10/10! We order lamb chops, sweet potatoes, mac n cheese, wings, fried fish dinner, the veggie rolls!!!!! Were amazing. The drinks were great also. Try them out hopefully the service will be great the whole time. Thank you again Jas

I came for a birthday celebration brunch. We had a party of 8. When we were seated they gave us separate tables? Why if we are 1 whole party. So we moved the tables ourselves after the hostess said “she didn’t care if we put them together or not”. Allow me back up a brief moment.. we arrived at 1130/1140. The establishment opened at 11. There was 1 other party of 6 seated in the middle of the restaurant and there were 2 separate couples then us. Keep this in mind as we continue. We order a mimosa tower … filled with ice (more ice than the drink) and as the plastic cups were in route to us the waitress dropped them on the ground. She quickly picked them up but instead of supply new cups she quickly washed them behind the bar. Only to bring them to the table and we still had dirty cups and cups with water still in them. (This is about the 3rd time I’ve been to this establishment and received a dirty cup with my beverage If I return I will be asking for paper items only). We start to order. Again the restaurant just opened…. Almost everything we started order the waitress says “oh we don’t have that today. We’re out of that. We don’t have that either” so we asked her did they have because it was getting ridiculous. We get the food items in. All the other tables have been served at this point. About 45min we finally get the appetizers (3 orders of crab balls, cheesecake bites and chic and waffle bites) hardly anyone in the restaurant (the table of 6 is done ordering they are eating and conversing no orders from the bar) we place another drink order… over 20mins for drinks to arrive. Now another 50mins go by the food come out 2 at a time in 10-15 min increments except for the last 2 orders. The last 2 order came out 30min after everyone else and they were all put in at the same time. When it came out the eggs and potatoes were cold and hard. Not to mention no ones potatoes had any peppers or onions in it, although it should have. I also go a side of cinnamon rolls French toast there’s no icing no cinnamon dust and you guessed they are cold as well. Total we ordered steak and eggs with potatoes and side of traditional French toast, skillet with pork sausage and potatoes and eggs, 2 lamb chops with eggs and potatoes 1 came with side of cinnamon French toast, 1 plater of traditional French toast( it was stated on the menu it would have fruit… there was no fruit we had to ask for it and she receive different fruit than what was labeled) and the down dirty plate with chicken and steak omelet (which was not steak but ground beef instead). Not only were the potatoes and eggs cold and missing peppers and onions they were dry, unseasoned and overall the experience was heavily underwhelming and extremely disappointing. Overall, my experience was good. I stopped in for breakfast on my way home to NC. The waffles, eggs, toast, and turkey sausage were great! The potatoes were edible, but nothing that made my taste buds excited. I feel the pricing was slightly on the high end for breakfast, especially for no more than I was served. The service was kinda slow. Maybe because my waitress was training a new hire, so I won’t be too harsh here. They both were very pleasant and apologetic for the delays. The atmosphere was boastful. The music was enjoyable and helped drown out conversations at the surrounding tables. I would try them again if I’m in town.

Wasn’t going to write a review initially, my crew wanted to have my own experience despite all the reviews, but as we were leaving the establishment there was a roach crawling on the wall near the booth behind us!!!! The food was delicious. I had the pan seared salmon with corn bread, macaroni, and two toasted bread slices on the side (It was delicious and seasoned well) I want to give my thanks to the Chef for this evening. The other workers told us his name was Vision. Well, Vision keep up the good and hard work, the food was immaculate. The waitress was wonderful and polite as well her name is Alicia. They made our experience great. Don’t listen to the other reviews. I recommend that you always get your own opinion of a place before judging it.

The place was a whole vibe — super cute and very welcoming! As soon as we walked in, the bartender, LaLa, greeted us with great energy. She was cool as hell and made us feel right at home. She asked if we wanted to sit at the bar and of course we said yes — it’s 5 o’clock somewhere, right?? Lol.
We grabbed the menu and realized dinner didn’t start until 5, so we ordered some appetizers in the meantime. Bae and I got the honey Old Bay wings, fries, and waffles with chicken tenders. The wings were just okay — the flavor was there with the sauce, but the chicken itself could’ve used more seasoning. The fries? Eh… not the best, but hey, potatoes are potatoes, so we made it work.
Once 5pm hit, we both ordered the jerk lamb chops. I got yams and asparagus on the side, and he got cabbage and mac & cheese. Sadly, the food fell flat — barely seasoned, and the lamb chops were just so-so. For a spot we drove over an hour to try, I was expecting way more flavor and soul in the food. It just wasn’t giving what it was supposed to give.
All in all, I’d give Canvas Cuisine a 5/10. The decor and atmosphere were really cute, LaLa was amazing, and the location is dope — but the food needs some serious love in the seasoning department.

Went here for the first time with my husband this past Sunday (Father’s Day) and I loved it! The food was amazing, the service was great, the drinks were tasty as well. I loved the layout on the inside, we sat outside though due to ordering a hookah. We did not have a long wait since we got there right at opening time. A DJ was setting up when we left at about 12:30, which would’ve only made the vibe even better.
We had a great server, her name was Lay I believe (please forgive me if I got the name wrong ). She was warm and sweet and let us know of the drink specials and I really appreciated her recommendations! We tried the Green Tea shot that she recommended and we loved it . My husband had a watermelon mint hookah and he enjoyed that also. We shared a mimosa flight which was tasty and plenty for 2 people. I had the red velvet waffle, chicken sausage and home fries. My husband had chicken and waffles and home fries. They also offer military discount for active duty! We will definitely be back soon, so happy they opened a location in Hampton!

I been here a few times and the vibe was always good . Unfortunately I came last week around 8:30-9pm & was told they were about to close although there hours on here say 12AM for the weekends . Upon being greeted I was immediately met with an attitude. the server acted as if we were bothering her im assuming because we came “before closing” so it felt like we were being rushed out. I ordered a hookah at the bar that they almost didnt bring & after 20 mins of no one coming the server says “i mean you wont have time because were about to close” when we had plenty of time & would have had even more if they didnt spend that 20 mins sitting and talking to one another . they also got lazy with the music & just let anything play the rest of the night while their dj sat on the phone , which the music was one of the main reasons i liked it here. overall very disappointed because i really did enjoy this place until this experience.

We stopped in for dinner tonight , have never seen this place, how cute, a little vibe with so much flavor, great service. The food was excellent. I had the hangover burger and my partner got the lamb chops. The lemonade was really fresh, all ingredients were. The atmosphere is nice . Would highly recommend

First the coming here and overall I wasn’t too happy with the experience. We got there a few minutes after opening and was sat at a dirty table that wasn’t cleaned the previous night. There was crumbs and trash still on the table. The server had to clean before we can even order.
There are pretty good meal options on the menu for brunch. I ordered all sides since I didn’t want eggs, waffles, or french toast. I ordered the catfish, potato hash, and biscuits.
When the food arrived I was quite disappointed. For starters, I sent the hash back immediately because it literally had no onions or peppers sure to them telling me after the food arrived that they were out. They should’ve notified me prior to preparing the food to see if I wanted something different since they couldn’t properly prepare the item, or just 86 the potato hash.
The CATFISH …even tho the taste was good, it was a greasy, soggy mess. If the fish wasn’t soggy I would’ve been able to enjoy it.
Overall the best thing was the biscuit! It was one biscuit cut in half, they had no jelly to go with it tho lol. That was the best thing I had, $4 for one biscuit, but it was bomb
I’ll go back one day and try their dinner food and update my rating then.
