Accidentally found this place when passing by. Decided to give it a try especially Google reviews gives it a good ratings.

It is a real Cantonese style Chinese restaurant, not just the name. The roast duck looks good and tasty! The soy bean chicken is less than perfect. Other dishes we ordered are all well prepared.

They also serve Americanized Chinese food, yes, those you can buy from the most of so called Chinese restaurants.

The staffs are friendly and able to speak English, Cantonese and mandarin.

This was just okay for me. I had the sesame chicken, egg roll, and pork ribs appetizer. Everything was okay, almost good but a off in some way, specifically the sesame chicken sauce had a slight burnt flavor, which was very off-putting. Sadly, I won’t order from here again. I had high hopes.

I regularly eat here on Fridays with a large party. The employees are wonderfully accommodating to us showing up last minute and go out of their way to make sure we have everything we need. The food is delicious, and we always order family style, and ends up being very reasonably priced.
If you’re curious to check them out, please do! What a fantastic find for our group!

There are very few authentic Cantonese Restaurants in Richmond. When we heard this place was opening we had to try it. My husband and I have lived in Hong Kong, China and San Francisco so Cantonese food is comfort food for us. Their menu is not huge but it had lots of traditional dishes that reminded us of home. The Salted Fish Fried Rice, Siu Mai and Honey Walnut Shrimp were delicious. My children loved the decor and atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place and we look forward to returning soon!

This has always been my go-to place for Chinese BBQ, and I usually don’t leave bad reviews. However, the service today was really disappointing, and I’m writing this in hopes that it can be improved next time.

We ordered two entrées and one appetizer. The first entrée and the appetizer came out relatively quickly, but the wait for the second entrée was endless. We waited another 30 minutes until a different server came over and asked if everything was okay. That’s when I told her we were missing one entire dish, and it appeared the order had been completely forgotten.

If it were busy, I would totally understand, but there were people just standing around in the back. Possibly because of this, our original server never came back to check on us, and we had to track someone down just to get a box. What was supposed to be a quick stop for food turned into almost a two-hour experience.

The food was still good, and I’ll likely come back, but I really hope the service improves

Thank you

Authentic Chinese cuisine, nice atmosphere in the restaurant. They also have dim sum. Good service. Think I’ve also found place for good dim sum in the area. Not many places to get good dim sum around the Richmond area. So, this is a refreshing change to find this restaurant from all of the Westernized Chinese food.

The ONLY place I go for Peking Duck! Yes, that is including Full Key, which is rated really highly for their Peking Duck and is great in its own right. I’ve tried Peking Duck all across Richmond for years, and Cantonese Kitchen just has not been beat!
The portions are hefty, the price is fair, the taste and quality of the food is always on point, and the family that runs the restaurant always create a friendly environment that I want to bring my family and friends to be part of. Order and enjoy!

The food is good. But, today I ordered half a roasted duck and they gave me a bunch of back meat from another duck and did not give me my whole duck leg. My cousine has told me about this practice in other bbq restaurants. I was not given my favorite part of the duck. I will be watching them cut it up from now on. Also, they only gave me half of my order of tendon and radish. Normally, you get two plastic containers to go. Its disappointing that a place I want to support short changed me. I’ll just have to go back to getting roasted duck from Full Kee.

I dined here last month with my significant other and we both enjoyed our meal there. The place is clean and tidy, the interior encompassing many traditional Chinese restaurants with a modern flare. We both loved the decor, it had a homey feel to it, with a relaxing atmosphere. The staff was welcoming, and our server was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu; she explained to us the specials that were on the folding chalk board with great detail.

As for the food, we ordered egg drop soup, steamed pork shumai, roast duck on rice, and General Tso’s chicken. One of the things that I thought was nice was that we were brought watermelon slices as a dessert and palate cleanser. They didn’t have to but the extra effort is greatly appreciated. We enjoyed everything, but I have some notes for what we ordered:

* Egg drop soup is my favorite, and although this one is good, it needs a bit more salt and white pepper
* The pork shumai was excellent, very juicy and flavorful
* The roast duck on rice was delicious, though I would suggest lessening the portion of rice to go with the duck – there was more rice compared to the duck. I would also suggest a dipping sauce to go with the steamed bok choy as well
* The General Tso’s chicken was flavorful, juicy, and crispy, with the right amount of spice – not too overpowering at all.

Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. People need to understand that this place is still fairly new, being open for only a couple of months. I think that with time and implementing feedback from customers will elevate this place and help find its footing.

Very authentic and tasty Chinese food. Probably the best Chinese restaurant in the Richmond area currently. Prices are reasonable for portion size. Cute homey decor. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.
